Blown stock intercooler gasket

I was installing the PRL intercooler and when I removed the stock unit, I noticed the gasket had a chunk missing. I'm the first owner, have about 12500mi on it. What are the odds it was like this from the factory?

Not impossible...is the chunk stuck to the pipe or intercooler?

Slim to none. My guess is that the gasket tore apart when you removed the OEM intercooler. Did PRL not supply you with new replacement gaskets?

PRL supplied new gaskets. Didn't see anything stuck to the piping. Everything is working fine.
