Had full body PPF and clear tint put on all windows except the windshield with the plan to keep this long term. There is still a loan on the car through my local credit union. Car is located in Costa Mesa, California.

Reason for selling is the dealership lied about keeping the build sheet (they threw it out). I thought not having the build sheet wouldn’t bother me, but it does.

Nothing wrong with it and currently has 254 miles. It is completely stock and unmodified. Front bumper has not been drilled. This is not my daily but I do occasionally drive it, mileage will increase by ~15 miles/week. Non-smoker car. No oil changes so far, as car was picked up in September.

Car will come with:
Original window sticker
Brand new in bag OEM red floor mats
OEM all weather floor mats installed in the car
OEM front plate bracket + screws
Letter from Honda Japan detailing its exact build date
Replacement fuse box lid (original fuse box lid was scratched from dealership)

Price is $50,750

Isn’t a build sheet just a sheet that lists the options added? Is there a reason it’s so important for you? Just curious. And damn this is priced nicely especially with PPF considering full PPF is a 6500 dollar cost usually. GLWS!

If I'm keeping an FL5 long term I want all of its documents. Just seems like a cool thing to have

Hmmm I wonder if I have one…hmm I’ll check tomorrow. Doubt it’ll make a difference for me cause I have had it 1 month and already 2500 miles and sold OEM wheels.

I try very hard not to be negative in any way on any forum - people should do what makes them happy regardless of what others think - but this is the most baffling post I have seen in my life. Is OP trolling us? Deciding to buy a super rare car, probably waiting months for it, probably paying over MSRP for it, taking it directly for full body PPF, then selling it with 250 miles because of a missing build sheet??? I read this last night before I went to bed and it actually kept me up because I could not wrap my head around the logic.

BTW - does anyone have their build sheet? Has anyone ever seen a build sheet posted on a BAT or CAB listing? I did not even know this was a thing on a modern mass produced car (ie - not Ferrari, McLaren, etc). Can someone post a picture of one for a CTR?

The world is an awesome place with people who have all kinds of different thoughts and opinions. Definitely GLWS.

Honestly, I just figured he was gonna keep it super low miles and sell it for a sh*t ton in 10-20 years and wanted that for increased value.

I knew it wouldn't take long for the thinly veiled pot shots to ensue. It's a public forum so I'm not surprised and it is par for the course. After the OP's initial thread about the missing build sheet, it's not shocking this FS thread was soon to follow. Car enthusiasts, real ones anyway, are a rare breed. Things that may not bother most people will absolutely eat a car enthusiast alive. It's his car, his money, and his decision therefore he's free to do as he pleases. It doesn't need to make sense to you. He's also not asking for advice on what to do.

This is an excellent deal provided the PPF and tint product and workmanship are of good quality.

And yes, I do have my build sheet (see photo). The dealership was kind enough to do as I asked of them when the car arrived...no fuel, no car wash, no dealership branding. Just pull it off the truck and load it onto another to ship it to me. The build sheet is a nice little novelty that I will hold onto. Interesting to see the handwritten kanji/kana characters from I presume someone at the factory.

I am also selling my car because the dealership removed the plastic cover from the passenger seat. It is no longe original, and I hate it.

Build sheet from FL5:

I got lucky that my dealership's sales manager makes a practice of snagging these when Type-R's are delivered so they don't get tossed, but he's an enthusiast and knows some of us care about this kind of thing.

It's a fun thing to have, a weird size that would require a custom frame (if framing is your thing), but not something I'd lose sleep over, personally. OP's feeling, OP's money.

@Clark_Kent
  1. "Veiled pot shots" - nice. Is this me to the OP or you to me??
  2. I guess I am not a real car enthusiast in your eyes (veiled pot shot anyone?)
  3. His money - his decision. Yep - as I stated " people should do what makes them happy regardless of what others think"
  4. "He's also not asking for advice." I was not giving any advice - just giving my opinion. This is a public forum right? Do I have your permission to give my opinion?
  5. Certainly a good deal and, as above, GLWS
  6. I wish I had my build sheet. Super cool. Jealous of those who have theirs.

I messaged Honda Japan customer support in Japanese asking them about my build sheet. I guess the guy slipped up or something when he gave me my build day, because the second message after that they gave me was that the sheet is "internal information" that they don't share with customers.

You lose your build sheet, there is no way to get another.

My out of state dealer said they would do the same thing as yours. Tells you how much their word is worth if you can't be there in person. And as much as I would like buy local, all the dealerships around me said that they can't omit the PDI for any car, including throwing away plastics and the sheet.

I guess this is just how things are when you don't know anyone in the industry

Update: This thread will be up for a limited time before I ask for it to be deleted. There's a specific MY24 FL5 I'm looking at, but if it sells, I'll just keep this one for a while

LOL... nothing about what was said above was thinly veiled nor a shot at the OP. With such a desirable model, people will obviously be questioning someone who decides to sell a basically brand new car because it's missing a piece of paper. Totally fine if that is what is important to the OP. You had your opinion, let them have theirs.
