I picked up my cargo liner and there is an additional piece on the right side that covers part of the sub and makes that side of the tray not sit flush in the trunk. Is this an issue or was it truly designed this way?

Designed this way. Many of the international versions of the CTR don't get the subwoofer so this fills that gap in. Any of the markets that get the subwoofer just need to take an exacto or box cutter and cut it. Flip the tray upside down and get a cutting board, find the midpoint or how much you want to cut off and it's an easy cut. I ended up taking slightly more than I wanted being lazy not flipping the tray over to help stabilize but we're talking a millimeter too much - no one will ever notice.

For anyone nervous about cutting the tray, it's almost impossible to mess it up. Looks way nicer than folding it and can be done with kids scissors, it's very easy to cut along the line.

I ended up reusing the tray from my FK8. When you folded the side of the tray on the FK8, it would stay in place better. Try folding it first and see how you like it. If you don’t, cut it.
