CarPlay random black screen?

Yesterday my CarPlay (iOS 18.4.1) started randomly going black screen. It’s still connected because my music plays and it’s responsive to commands. Previous it’s been working fine without issue.

If I disconnect/reconnect from my iPhone or car, it works fine but shortly after the black screen returns. I’ve removed the connectivity from both devices to no avail. Based on the behavior, I assume it’s a software issue and not hardware.

Anyone else run into this issue and were you able to fix it?

2025 same black screen issue after removing battery ground to put on the suede wheel.

I reset the whole audio system via the screen (in settings on '25 models) and it came back after a few drives.

A thread on reddit led me to pull the audio fuse (15a left side in fuse box, check the fuse key) and so far so good. Someone else in the tread noted that they had to pull the ground again and the fuse trick didn't work.
