Hey everyone, I’m new here. Anyways I have the wheels from the 2022 civic hatch sport touring and I want to replace my LX wheels. Is it generally safe to upsize from 16”(215 / 55 R16 93H) to 18”(235 / 40 R18 91W)? Has anyone had any issues doing this. Will it cause any damage to the vehicle??

The only thing it will change is how accurate your speedo is and maybe if your TPMS works or not.

OEM 16 to OEM 18 of the same model year? no issue. just curious... why didn't you just go for the sport when purchasing? was it because of availability or insane mark up on the sport model?

Thanks for the replies guys.

And yeah both are the reasons. I live in NJ and dealers around me are being crooks. I had to go to Delaware to get my LX. Also I just don’t like the black rims on the sport much. Prefer the ones on the touring IMO.

Should be no problem. The overall outer diameter is the biggest concern. TPS won't be an issues since Civics use wheel speeds sensors to determine inflation differences. Just slap the new wheels on and calibrate the TPS from your dash screen. The lug-nuts you already have should be fine since the LX hatch comes with alloy wheels vs the steelies on the sedan.
