Hey dudes!
Picked up my CW CTR back in mid February. It’s incredible. It is my first manual car I’ve owned but have driven some manual cars in the past. I just hit 900 miles on it and took it real easy for the first 600. I did notice a brake pad or clutch smell from the rear. After I got home from a long drive today I opened up the hood and stuck my nose down by the trans and couldn’t smell anything. Then I knelt down near the exhaust and it was pretty pungent. It smelled exactly like brakes after you bed them in. This has been going on since day 1 but is a bit less apparent 900 miles in.
praying it’s not the clutch and maybe it still breaking in or the pads aren’t fully bedded from the factory. When I take off in 1st gear I usually give it about 1500 rpms and lift to the bite point or if I need to go slow I’ll just lift to the bite until I move, release clutch fully, and then crawl in 1st.
anyone else get that smell even 900 miles in? Am I driving completely wrong or am I freaking out over nothing?
Thanks
