So, I never actually saw people discussing it. But did you guys realize how common it is for CW rear bumper color to mismatch the rear side panel (but at the same time match perfectly the trunk lid)?

P.S.: Found all the images on the internet. However, I've done my best so that people can't recognize any of the cars. If someone wants a pic removed, just lmk.

A few of those pictures I dont see it being even a shade off. Regardless, plastic parts commonly dont ever match 100% to its metal adjacent panels. The formulation, mixing, spraying will have to be adjusted for each type of material you're spraying. This typically doesnt happen on a mass production line. Same can be said for the front bumper vs fender. And the trunk is metal...

Its not just on these cars, either.

Yup, usually bumpers or plastic parts dont match perfectly. Some manufacturers are way worse at matching.

I'll have to check my CW now, super noticeable in those pictures but I can't help but feel that I've never really noticed it. Some of those pictures also have inconsistent lighting, so that may be playing a factor

Its also the lighting in which its viewed, which can amplify the color difference. Mine is pretty good.

Hatch is resin

My bumper is closer to the rear quarter than the hatch. The fact that the hatch requires a lot of force from the internal handle to close, yet doesn't like to latch, bothers me more than the shade mismatch.

The hatch is certainly aluminum. Had the wing and all interior hatch panels off many times now. But I agree it does require some force to close

Its actually a combination of materials. Certain parts have aluminum and others are the composite. At least Honda claims as such.

Adjust the bump stops on the sides of the hatch door. Mine were loose from the factory, so when I hit bumps the latch would “clink.” If they’re lowered too much, they can probably interfere with the latch catching properly (when closing). I think the latch position has some adjustability as well.

Yep. SUPER common, especially on vehicles that aren’t $$$. It’s not difficult to spot (including on others makes/models) when you know what to look for.

Took a look at the bumper a few minutes back and I can't tell the difference. Maybe I'm color blind lol

I had a dodge challenger 2011 392 in that green color. The bumper was a shade different than the body. That wasn't the worse part about that car. The actual body panels rippled on their own. You wanna talk about something that got to me. That did. Id get paintless dent removal and it would come right back. Finally gave up on it.
