New owner of 2022 Civic Sport Touring and struggling with the technology elements of the Bluetooth/Carplay/WiFi settings.
I was initially excited to have wireless carplay to use with my iPhone on this car. I have wired-only carplay on my 2021 Ford and had not this feature before.

First problem: So the carplay seems to prioritize my sons phone over mine, so when I am in the car with him it's always showing his Carplay and any sound created by any app on his phone will take over the audio. Can this be stopped? prioritized?

Second problem: Same scenario but he is driving, and his phone has control of carplay and I am passenger. If I try to use my phone I am met with connection problems. My phone it seems is wifi connected to my home wifi SSID that the Civic is spoofing cause it uses this for wireless carplay?
I have to disconnect the wifi on my iphone to have any connectivity cause the spoofed wifi SSID is not connected to anything beyond the Civic.
I hate both of these problems and would rather have wired-only carplay to avoid these things if possible.

Today I completely turned of the Wifi settings in the menu and plugged in my phone for carplay, this seems to have resolved it, but I'm looking for a way to use wireless carplay in a prioritized way, and yet not spoof wifi for non car-play phones in the car.

thanks in advance, and sorry if this quesiton has already been answered, i looked but didn't find it.

I was not able to resolve similar issue, could not resolve after trying several other settings/configurations.

I ended up disabling wifi and I am only connecting via USB

I have the phone mounted next to the center infotainment display, it is an older iPhone, always needs charging, so I need the USB connection anyways for charging. so wired is okay for me.

no issues since.

this is for Type R, but should be same/similar to Sport Touring.

The newer Google-based infotainment units used in other Honda vehicles allow for profiles to be stored. I don't prefer that crap and would suggest that you only pair one phone to your current car so there are no competing connections.
