I was wondering if anyone can answer this question :

Will FK8 Struts/Shocks can be installed bolt-on to FL5 ? Anyone tried ?

Every time I drive my FK8, I feel that the suspension is much more 'comfortable' for daily drive/street use ... Just a thought ...

After installing the ITS damper module, the ride stopped bothering me.
Much more comfortable in daily driving. Thirty minute job vs. hours for a suspension swap.

I already have ITS ADS installed, then upgraded to Ohlins DFV Road & Track.

I'm not complaining, just wondering if I can install FK8 suspension to FL5, just curiosity (if I have to in the future).

A lot of the suspension components from the FK8 and FL5 are interchangeable; much like your Ohlins setup, its the same one for the FK8 and FL5. The ITS module won't really matter much since you don't have the factory suspension. Might need to adjust the damping on the Ohlins.

What is happening in this thread?

You failed to mention you have Ohlins, and are asking why your FK8 feels more comfortable?

Do you actually think the ITS module is doing anything with your Ohlins installed????

You have an FK8 AND an FL5, sure stranger things have happened and people spend money in mysterious ways, but... Are you AI? This doesn't seem real.

And the question has already been answered. The Ohlins part numbers are the same whether you select an FK8 or FL5. That may change soon but as far as I'm aware the parts are interchangeable.

But all of it is unnecessary, and it still doesn't make sense why someone with Ohlins installed would ask it. If you want a more comfortable ride on the street, go back to factory. Especially with the ITS ADS installed.

Or go to FK8 parts for no reason. Sure, why not?

FK8 dampers can work but they shouldn’t be used on the FL5. They’ll be operating outside of their intended range. The FL5 dampers received several changes and updates to maximize its capabilities. Sounds to me like you should’ve gotten an ITS instead of the CTR.

:)

You are right, I failed to explain the context of my query ... No worries, allow me to explain.

I started with 2018 FK8 CW then 2019 FK8 CW then 2020 FK8 CW and recently decided to get 2021 FK8 LE in Phoenix Yellow (which is I currently own).

No, I'm afraid I'm not AI and Yes, I'm weird to own both FK8 & FL5. But like you said, people spend money in mysterious way ... LOL ... Better than spending them on drug, gambling, etc .

I did purchase 2023 FL5 CW last year and like most of everyone here, progressively we installed parts that we like. As you all know, FL5 OEM suspension is stiff and as 'older person', I would like to get a bit more comfortable ride, hence I get ITS ADS which helped significantly on the ride quality.

But after a few months, I wanted to try Ohlins DFV Road & Track which I did install. I did not bother to uninstall ITS ADS since I know that the ADS will not affect anything once I install Ohlins. I'm not that stupid ... Hahhahahhaaa ... Spent a lot of different click set ups, got a good combination at 10 clicks from full stiff (for both front & rear). I'm content and happy with the ride with my Ohlins set up.

However, as I age further, I realize that having both cars and drive them back to back, I found that : FOR STREET and DAILY, LE OEM suspension set up offers different proposition (maintaining sharp handling with 'comfortable' ride) which I know I will prefer when my back cannot take the stiffness ride anymore (in the future). Hence, my question in this thread.

I apologize that my query has no context in the beginning.

I test drove Integra Type S and I prefer FK8/FL5 hands down.

I prefer to have these two :

Thank you, Sir ... We only live once :nixon:
Nec'mancing this thread to ask you @sugarl4nd ,

Do you still have both Type Rs?
By any chance, do you know if there is a difference in spring height between the FK8 and the FL5? I'm wondering if maybe the FK8 springs are perhaps longer than the FL5 springs... or are the spring dimensions between the two models identical?

I could probably just ask some vendors in this forum, but thought you might know since you've owned both cars.
