Is there any product that protects the drivers left side bolster?

Looking for a small cover or something that fits over the left side bolster of the drivers seat to protect it from my ass rubbing it to death getting in and out. Have the dream covers for when I'm dirty but looking for something I can use on a daily basis. If not I might see about having some custom leather piece made.

Don't think you'll get anything that'll do that tbh. The damage I've seen on seats is from the foam breaking down over time and the only way to mitigate that is to lift yourself OUT of the seat as you get out.

At worst, you can find an upholstery shop down the line and they can replace the foam underneath for you. That's what we ended up doing on my wife's CRV years back because she would slide out of the seat instead of stepping out so it broke that foam down.

I believe there's a part number for these too so you can order and OEM one and replace on your own if you are comfortable peeling the seat cover off. Obviously, prevention is best though.

I should have been more clear. I'm not messing up the cushion, but I am messing up the suede surface from the light brushing of my butt/thigh when getting in/out. I am headed to a custom leather shop today to see if they can make me something nice looking to securely drape over the bolster.

Ah! gotcha. Just keep an eye out for any leather dye transfer, but I think that's not a bad solution!

On the FK8s with high mileage (>100K miles) I've seen both happen. The pad breaks down to where it essentially collapses and has a lumpy appearance. As a result the suede like material (seat cover) isn't as taut and has a wavy appearance. The seat also begins to lose its color from the cumulative rubbing/contact with the seat.

@Brittania Seems you're heading in the right direction finding a shop to gin up a bolster protector. The pad is something I don't believe you'll need to solve for for some time.

Found a custom interior place in Raleigh and took my car in for them to look at. This place was huge and they had some amazing cars, old and new, that they were working on. I felt ashamed to ask them for a little bolster cover, but they were extra nice and one of the guys is gonna come up with a design for me in the next week or so. I'll update this thread when I see what he comes up with in case anyone is interested.

I am thinking of adding a couple black thread stitches on the edge of the right bolster and align with a small silver Sharpie dot on the center console. This would visually reset the seat position after moving it all the way back for ingress/egress.
I'd rather have a stop in the seat track, but it's not obvious how to do this. Me and my wife use the same seat position, so only needs to stop in one place.
My son's FK8 bolster looks fairly worn, though the rest of his car looks near new.

Until you find a permanent solution, why not just use a small towel? I am using one on the back seat matched to the black, hopefully it helps keep it fresh for longer.

I found exactly what I was looking for
11th Gen Honda Civic Is there any product that protects the drivers left side bolster? Screenshot_20240620_211738_Brave

Ordered 2 from Blackhawk Japan. $56 including shipping so if it doesn't work I'm not out much.
