im not MST man email them if you have issues with how they run their company. Every company has issues upon release not hard to search these forums and see other companies who released intakes recently that had to fix things after the first batch. The real testers are the customers and if there is issues how the company responds is the big one that matters. Nothing is perfect things can always be improved. And a few units out of across the world aren’t really that bad
I understand that you are a reseller....My comment was directed to MST being the manufacturer of the intake itself. It is good to hear that MST is responsive to address any design issues. On that note, I would be pissed having spent money on an upgraded intake only to later learn that the community would have to be involved in product engineering/development testing to get it to work as originally designed/intended. No solid connection for the MAF sensor O-ring?

thanks man appreciate it! I created my fb group to make parts better and have real discussions on issues not hide and delete things like the other groups also not to bash and be transparent.

Of course and thank you. I don't have and I don't use Facebook are you please able to post the update from MST? I read that they were going to have a meeting to address this but it seems like they shipped some without any QC checks so not all were impacted.

it was not the problem that we thought but because of the everyday customer we all made a better product (pending further tests of course) They figuredit out pretty quickly and working OT this weekend to keep running tests to confirm even more. I will update when I am allowed to they are going to make it up to everyone and send something free and also send the part to replace. Photos of them testing the issue. Fuel trims are now close to stock but they are going to keep testing

Thank you so much I do think if MST or someone can please post fuel trims we would be at ease versus some of the misinformation that was being put out regarding wonky trims.

I do understand some people having the wonky fuel trims could have been due to having the faulty intakes.

Even if any of your customers are being tuned by Vega and he can provide the data log showing the trims.

Thank you again for your continued updates and transparency I know you don't work for MST but as a vendor and a fellowfl5 enthusiast

FL5 MST Intake UPDATE
I wanted to share a transparent update regarding the MST intake situation, directly from MST.

Do not judge it based on fuel trims of V1 it is now fixed and updated trims are oem like. here is current update

MST has identified the cause of the fuel trim / CEL issues that occurred on some units. The MAF tube diameter with the aluminum sleeve installed was approximately 1mm larger than stock, which caused air to flow at a slightly different speed and affected the MAF sensor readings.

For vehicles that are tuned, this generally has less impact, but many people chose this intake specifically so they wouldn’t need a tune, so getting this corrected was important.

Credit where it’s due the issue was identified by members of this group, and MST responded quickly and began working on the solution immediately the next morning. This is exactly what I hoped this community would be about: openly discussing things good or bad, and working with manufacturers to improve products. I’m glad to see MST listening and jumping on a solution right away.
MST has revised the design, and the corrected MAF tubes are currently in production.

Once manufacturing is complete:
Replacement MAF tubes will be shipped to affected customers
One complimentary air filter will be included per set as compensation

All new intake kits will include the revised tube
As soon as we receive more information on production or shipping timelines, I’ll share another update.

Thank you everyone for your patience and for helping identify the issue so it could be resolved quickly.

Below the red is the tested new design "not final". Fuel trims were close and hitting stock numbers with this one during their tests. Again thank you Dennis Smith John Vega phearable.net for the research and idea to look into it thats what I want in this group not just people talking bad without any input on how to fix it.

The dyno is the new numbers they got during testing. Slightly less peak but look at the mid range

Dam yes. Ill take less power, but stable fuel trims.

So are they now close to stock? Hard for me to read the chart.

Thank you again for the continued updates and working with them, especially as a vendor and fellow FL5 owner. You went above and beyond and won another customer.

Appreciate the support! They are not the only ones that had issues upon release of an intake I am just happy they are willing to work with us and listen to the customer base! They are really hard workers had the issue figured out in the morning the next day. Not many companies listen they could have just left it and let tuning take care of the fuel trims but they want this for the people that do not want a tune. Power is still there with the new housing its awesome! I rather have a nice sounding intake with proper fuel trims over power thats bad for the engine. They will also be protoyping a 82mm housing for the big power guys which I would use for my build. DM me anytime for questions!

The Injen intake still causes horrible fuel trims for the 11th gen 1.5T and they refuse to address it 😂

Please keep us posted when they are available for order and one last question obviously I see we have to pay shipping do I have to pay the tariffs as well? Or is that included?

I am actually impressed how fast they solved the issue for us. Next morning they were on it. New trims from their test FL5 looks perfect! I am covering half shipping from tawain its actually double that and yes you pay tarriffs. I was doing pre pay tarriffsbut they keep changing the rates on tarriffs its impossible to follow lol Don't worry people are ready to take it back and test the trims when they send them replacement housings soon.

Lookat that POS AFE/Takeda intake has had issues forever and they dont fix it lol

They told me last night 2-3 weeks for the housings to be completed so worst case scenario eta is early to mid April. I’m just happy they found and solved the issue so quickly. All intakes will come with the new housing I email everyone as I get updated info that’s their “longest” eta could be earlier

New MST MAF housings are mostly out for delivery today.

If you didn’t receive an email from me or MST with tracking info, please reach out to me I have extra housings available and can send you one. Some of you purchased directly from me when I had inventory, so be sure to check your email.

Also, new intakes will begin shipping Monday. Availability will depend on color black, grey, blue, and a limited number of red units from what I understand.

Again, please check your email for updates next week. Depending on when you ordered ETC depends on when yours will be sent
