SBX is growing.

We’re taking the same larger-diameter flow approach from our downpipe and bringing it to the FL5 front pipe.

3” tubing with 0.049” walls gives us a 2.902” internal diameter while keeping weight down. I really want to focus on keeping flow smooth with my downpipe and keeping the weight minimal. Will this thinner wall work? I will keep testing but lets be honest titanium is way way way thinner so we shall see

Grassroots manufacturing, built around making the FL5 platform better not just making another part.

Still in testing, but we’re getting close.

Looks sweet...IMHO, I would suggest a wider flex section. Titanium should also not be considered at all for the downpipe/front pipe sections.

thank you but its not titanium lol its 304... titanium sounds like crap imo I am not going bigger than 4 inch for the flex section. This is about weight savings and flow. Flex sections actually restrict the diamater and make a choke point on some applications. I tried to avoid that

Any update on this? Cool that the tubing is fully mandrel bent but wondering about production/shipping status.

I mentioned titanium simply because you referenced to it in the first post:

My response (as words of caution so to speak):

Titanium should also not be considered at all for the downpipe/front pipe sections

Rereading, I understand that you were simply using the titanium reference as a comparison to potentially use a thinner 304 SS wall on the SBX front pipe. Makes sense using a specialized mandrel bender in that case as a thicker walled SS pipe would be even more of a bitch to bend.

Haha no idea yet my original CAD drawing and design changed cause it’s going to be made in the USA. Benders here won’t do what I wanted so I had to modify it . I’ll announce what I did different soon front pipes are pretty light anyway lol we shall see… I’m going with thicker wall for longevity but adjusting other aspects
