you actually don’t have to pull any of the pillar panels or dash panels off but just enough to squeeze and run the lines

mod is well worth it, mirror looks better, homelink works with community gate even

and auto dim at night is great

Thanks for all this info, OP. Opening the center console and grabbing the garage remote every time leaving and arriving was getting old. Found an open box mirror on ebay for $85 shipped, now hunting for the best price wire harness if anyone has any leads on that.

I'm a little late to this thread, but I also wanted to figure out the pinout of the mirror connector so I could use it to power my dashcam. I attached the official accessory schematic from Honda for the mirror and wiring harness. I used the white wire for +12v and black for ground.

Was able to snag an MDX rear view mirror from a local wrecking yard for $80 and hope to get it installed this weekend along with routing a usb cable for a rear camera. Appreciate all of the info provided here!

You could just get a Apple Home Kit and Meross garage door opener. The Open/Close option shows up on your split screen.

The homelink mirror has auto-dimming, so yeah, it does.

Yep, auto dimming is 50% of the reason I did this mod. That and the mirror itself looks great too being frameless.

I was confused. This thread is more for auto dimming than garage door opener. The stock integra already comes with auto dimming.

it’s both for me. I had a vibrating garage door opener on visor. I got to remove thay and not rely on the head unit that can be glitchy at times. The type r also has a basic mirror unlike the integra so getting 2 things plus having it look better is a win all around. It’s plug and play so it makes it all the better.

good thing we are on civic forum, talking about what the civic has and doesn't have, and what it doesn't have is an auto-dimming mirror, and no homelink. so the mod is good for both

Hello, I have a civic sport 2024 and I’m looking to make this upgrade. However, I have a 20a fuse already in the spot where the instructions state to add a 15a fuse. Will the mirror work or do I need to add the fuse elsewhere?. Thanks in advance. I’m trying to make sure it will work before purchasing.
