If i made 350 whp with an 11th gen civic si, what cars would i be able to beat on a straight line race, and would it just be worth it to spend 15 grand to trade my car in for a faster one.

The main reason I got the FL5 was the handling, not the raw straight line speed.

In my opinion straight line speed is one of the least important criteria...

after my wife somehow got herself pregnant and decided to get a minivan, I had to sell my Cougar XR7 (supercharged same mechanicals as Thunderbird SC) and drove her 240SX. much less power, but very agile and well balanced car, easy four wheel drifts without even trying... though I did miss the raw power, it was much more fun to drive.

and why I cross shopped the CT4-V Blackwing and did not even consider the CT5-V Blackwing.

350whp in a Civic Si? Your wheel spin would be atrocious. I'd recommend buying a VB WRX, tune it, add intercooler and intake. Apparently those get to 400hp easily. 4WD launching helps get it off the line.

Or buy a C6 / C7 Corvette used.

Imo, the money you would spend to get the power you want is enough to warrant a faster car. Unless you really like the platform you're already on of course.

I think I should add that when modding a small displacement engines to far beyond its intended horsepower (without a built block), you're asking for trouble. Also an SI at 350whp will struggle to beat a 5.0, I think you bought the wrong car if that's your intention.

And you ain’t beating nobody from a dig with FWD.
there’s a built Si over on CivicX with big turbo. And he’s like low 13’s in the 1/4. Trap speed is 110+. You can tell when the turbo kicks in and just keeps pulling. Down rn though cause something happened. I think he’s dyno’ed at 420’s HP. Can’t remember tq

Even a Type R isn't the car for that. These cars aren't built for drag racing. If you want something affordable that can make a ton of power and go fast in a straight line look for any used BMW with a B58. Turbo, downpipe, tune and ethanol blend will be like 600hp. There are manual options and AWD if you're willing to go a little older.
