Hey Fam,

So I just installed the PRL HVIK on my FL5 and IAT temps are a little higher now.

Should I be worried? I only have like 700mi on the car and don't want to jeopardize the warranty.

Do I need to get the PRL intercooler?

I'm trying to avoid a snowball effect of having to upgrade one thing after another.

Any advice on next steps would be very helpful as this is my daily and my first R which took me years to save up for. I'm also a single dad so I don't have Torreto deep pockets ;(

I had a hard time installing the HVIK and don't think I'll be in the spirit to install the intercooler and charge pipe kit at the same time. Maybe IC first and then charge pipes.

I've got some gold tape if you think adding that around intake piping and airbox would help. LMK

Trying to save for Jester lol!

<3 Thanks family! <3

Intercooler is what will make the most difference in improving IAT's. I can get you hooked up with an intercooler! DM me your email.

Since we're on the subject of the hvi intake and iats, I have a question for PRL. The front of the hvi is molded like y'all 3d scanned the stock ducting which is cool. But the stock plugs a hole that could possibly let hot air from the radiator into the PRL HVI. Did you guys do testing that determined covering this hole was unnecessary, or was it just forgotten about during development? Some of the other intakes on the market cover that hole. I'm just curious if covering that hole is something we should do to get better iats. Thanks. @PRL Motorsports

Took these a few days ago. Guess I didn't take a picture of the hole buti circled the part that goes in the hole. And then you can see how the cai doesn't have that part on it.
Edit- I just took a snapshot off of TSP. 3rd pic.

No benefit in covering this hole. Air is still being pulled through the duct system over this area. The goal was to maximize the airflow utilizing the stock duct system in front of the rad support. Going with an integrated inlet duct on the box helped achieve that
