Oh great, another motor mount option - just what we needed... *Insert sarcasm here*
We know what you're thinking, but you're right. This is exactly what the community needs.

Over the years, we have heard the same gripes about motor mounts over and over again from owners in each community: "My car rattles so bad ever since I installed my motor mount." Yet it seems like most manufacturers have the same response:

We've heard your voices and developed a proper solution.

EPDM Bushings

Our motor mounts will utilize two press-fit EPDM bushings, unlike most other aftermarket mounts on the market. EPDM is the perfect bushing material because of its high resistance to outside atmospheric elements (heat, ozone, weather), chemicals, solvents, abrasives, tearing and vibration. Because EPDM has a higher density than urethane, this means we are able to use a softer/lower durometer bushing to keep engine vibration to a minimum, all while improving rigidity in comparison to the factory mount(s). Unlike urethane bushing inserts, EPDM bushings will not mushroom, wallow out or breakdown over time with use. There's a reason this type of bushing is used by OE manufacturers.

In an effort to streamline logistics and purchasing for both the end-consumer and Dealers, we will only be offering one mount option with one standard "stiffness" for each application. Currently, our team is testing a variety of bushing durometers at both sides of the mount, from 55A to 80A. We will collect real-world data from numerous different vehicles and drivers to find a one-size-fits-all combination of bushings that suits most anyone.

All bushings will be press-fit into our precision-machined billet 6061 aluminum motor mount assembly. This press-fit connection eliminates any possible gap to ensure that there are no metallic vibrations or noises, allowing the EPDM to absorb any engine or chassis vibration. Bushing shells and center inserts are Zinc-coated to aid in corrosion resistance.

The first two projects we've decided to tackle were the rear motor mounts for the 2016-2021 Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo / 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type-R FK8 (shared) and 2022+ Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo. Just looking at the factory rear mounts and putting together some first article design concepts, it's easy to see the similarities of an engine's connecting rod. Immediately, we ran off with an I-beam style connecting rod-esque design cue. I-beams work excellent for mounts and connecting rods because of their resistance to bending, stress, vibration and reflection. We were able to add a significant amount of material to increase rigidity and strength over the factory.

Stay Tuned!

After our testing is finished and production has started for our first two mounts, we will be working to develop more motor mounts for relevant platforms. Stay tuned for final pricing, data and expected release date.

Looks good! If it can cure wheel hop and not be so harsh, that would be a winner!

Well I did get the motor mount via UPS this afternoon. It looks really good, super well machined and is actually pretty hefty. I might have a free moment to get it installed tomorrow afternoon, if so I'll post my thoughts and impressions on it.

So I got the PRL rear motor mount installed this afternoon and took it for a 20 minute test drive. As a primer, I've had a few different vehicles with polyurethane motor mount inserts, Including the FE1 Si. I was running a 10th gen Whiteline polyurethane insert in the stock motor mount prior to installing the PRL. I have a good idea of what the differences between the OEM, Whiteline insert, and now PRL are.
My initial thoughts are the PRL definitely vibrates far less than the Whiteline insert. I would not say the Whiteline insert vibrated a lot, but I would occasionally get some annoying vibrations at certain RPM white idling with the AC on. It wasn't always a consistent vibration, it would come and go but could certainly get annoying. I would get the most vibration though the seat and feet. The PRL seems to have way less vibration through the seat and I just tend to feel it though the pedals and steering wheel.
While driving I can feel more engine feedback though the chassis that I didn't feel with the OEM or with the Whiteline insert. I noticed a big difference in the amount of rubber banding I had while driving in 1st and 2nd gear. The OEM mount was really bad with the rubber banding, the Whiteline was improved, but the PRL is even better. I was able to do a quick 1st to 2nd shift and got bad wheel hop on the shift, but that's been the case since I swapped the wheels and tires to 245 width summer tires.
