Thx.
That’s fair. But most questions regarding usability or shops to trust to carry out such a build could probably carry over from the fk8. Maybe in hindsight that sub forum might have been better to post in.

I did see that hondata post.Very good results and excited to see where that goes.
Just open a thread on civicx.com and people will help you with your questions. @Speedyserg comes to mind as very helpful and runs high power figures for a street driven car.

To OP, I have 443 whp on 93 octane fuel. Use it as DD and also have tracked it a total of eight 20min heats and drove it like it ain’t mine. Car is great. Pulls insane from from 5-7.5k rpm, lost a little bit of low end torque.
I have PRL I/C and P700 turbo, Hondata with tuning by RedStarMotoring, Catless DP and FP by Innovatig, drop in K&N filter.

I’m having PRL inlet and AWE exhaust installed next week which should squeeze maybe 15-20whp at best.

Pending would be HVI and that would be full bolt on. You can go higher with methanol kits, etc.

Thanks for sharing! Great data point for this thread and OP's inquiry. What was the stock baseline? What is target boost set at and at what RPM are you seeing it on the street (3rd/4th gear)? Are you revving to 7,500 RPM on stock valvetrain?

Awesome thank you. Are you able to hammer it on the street without blowing the tires off? Is 1-3 usable? Sounds like a great setup

Apologies for contributing to leading this thread OT. It's like a bunch of washed up high school athletes (or current/former Subaru fanbois) reliving their glory days. 🤣

Back to regularly scheduled FL5 programming. ;)
Lol. I love to rehash the old days.

I’ve owned over 100 cars at this point. I love all cars. Trying to own everything lol Some recent ones and an oldie.

No baseline dyno, I do have however dyno run with tune and everything previously stated EXCEPT with stock turbo instead of P700 and that was 373 hp @ 5.7k RPM on 93oct.

Regarding the technicalities of the tune, I unfortunately do not know them, it was all handled by Pepo at RedStar Motoring. I could ask him though.

I think I've seen out of the corner of my eye like 30 psi of boost. I'm doing a track day on October and will have the LogR fully enabled so will see more data by then.

Stock valvetrain and stock fuel system. There is some concern regarding valve float in the >7k RPM range but both my tuner (Pepo from Red Star Motoring) and mechanic (Jaime from DreamWorks Performance) whom have tons of experience with K20C1s (Type R culture and scene is very strong here in PR) were pretty confident that it's a non-issue and I trust them. Knock on wood.

The PRL P700 changes the attitude of the engine, less low end torque, spools quite high in the RPM vs the stock one so it's a little tamer on the lower end. Once in the >4.5k RPM range it really comes alive and traction control will kick in 2nd and 3rd. But I think its definitely manageable and very drivable. Of note, this is my first experience in terms of HPDEs and having a kick-ass car so I'm still learning the ropes and getting to know the car and how to really drive it well.

I was going down the path of a full build until i was told it would be $14k just for parts and installation not including the fact I would need to find another shop to pull the engine and ship it to them then ship it back yo have it put back in the car. So $30k for a fully built engine to 8-9k rpm. F that, Id rather buy a 718 GTS. Ill stick to the simple phearable tune and upgraded breathing apparatus!

Stock valvetrain will handle the rpms no problem. My main concern would be the high pressure fuel pump. When I do mine I will rev it to 7200rpms with a upgraded HPFP.

Were you going to do a full engine build? Who were you planning on sending it to?

Cool dude! Reason I ask is that I was suspecting that when I saw the price lol. I will be sending my spare s2000 engine to them to build.
Where are you located, how much to ship that thing? Just sounds like a pain in the ass when I could get a porsche right off the lot.

Haven’t gotten a quote for the shipping yet since I’m finishing other projects first. But the spare engine is already out and basically ready to go. But it should be a couple hundred dollars to ship it. I’m in Florida.

Thats not bad actually! I just want a mid level build but don’t have the skills To pull mine and don’t know any shops that Id trust to do it locally although I think there is a good shop in Wiscy. Ive heard that once its pulled the car is never really the same too. In your experience how much is it to pull one and put it back in?
