I have 3D maxpider Kagu mats (3dmatsusa) currently and like them well enough.. I want a set in red but $700 for mats is ridiculous. Does anyone have any of those "tux" or "lux" style mats or have any experience with them? I dont want to have carpeted mats but would like something all-seasonish to use once the salt is off the roads and then just have two sets of mats.

I have Kagus in our fk8 and love them, but bought and used Tuxmats for the FL5 at first...

Unfortunately I had to return them because they blocked clutch pedal travel, and my heels kept getting caught in the ribs. Tuxmat has fantastic coverage, but needs a redesign... they need to make a cut for the clutch pedal travel, and redo the ribs....

The heels getting caught felt dangerous as it crossed me up a couple times trying to pull into flowing traffic.

I bit the bullet and replaced them with the $700 red mats from 3dmats. So far I keep them pretty clean and new looking by regular vacuum and spot clean.

I have tuxmats for my 911. I would not purchase again. They are too thick in some areas and I have a hard time fitting them flush against the sides, I used their clips too. When I close my door the foot well rubs against the mat and push them out.

Overall the feeling is claustrophobic and uncomfortable, imo

Interesting, I've run Tuxmats on my FL5 for about a year now and have never had an issue. From your picture, the fitment looks quite rough in comparison to the FL5. I don't even use the clips since they fit so well. Your's look pretty bulky up towards the top left/dead pedal.

Those are the ones I was considering...just for the side seat protection. But thanks for the heads up

I made a thread about tux mats. In the winter the smooth edge under the seats results in a a waterfall onto the carpets.
