Do you know if the foam piece for yours between the dash and windshield is attached to the glass or the dash?
I have no idea…and there’s really no way for me to tell, unfortunately. I would have to try to rip it out of there to find out. I assume that the foam should’ve been installed before the glass, based on how far back there it is located. It would be a PITA for a person (during vehicle assembly) to have to go in there and install it after the fact. Not to mention, there’s nothing that would really hold that foam in place, which really makes me think it is pinned in there by the glass. It’s probably there to keep the dash from expanding (due to heat) and rattling against the glass. It may also help with glass installation. Just my guess.

So when they replaced the windshield, they didn’t replace that foam piece on the dash that you sent a picture of… so that explains why I can see a lot past the dash when I shove my camera down there lol. Got myself the foam piece, do you know if the foam piece for yours between the dash and windshield is attached to the glass or the dash?
Were you able to just stuff the foam in the gap?

Yeap! It’s easier if you just use a pry tool or something to help you fit it evenly in the gap
Cool, my windshield tech said they don’t re-use those because they could get glue on them when aligning the window. Do you have a part number? Also. Can you post a photo of the top of your windshield trim on the outside? I am getting mine done and we ordered the Honda part number but it isn’t correct

Does anyone know if the windshield for the FL5 is the same as the windshield used for the new civic hatchbacks? I just replaced my windshield with the dealership parts department (the order was for a 2022 honda civic hatchback windshield) and I'm just noticing that I can kind of see the firewall(?) behind the vent on the dashboard. I'm not able to take a photo of it since it's too narrow and under the frit but if I reach toward where the windshield and dashboard meet, I can feel (and kind of see the reflection) a little bit of whatever is under the firewall cowl. Is this normal...? Never noticed it but since I replaced the windshield I'm kind of hyper vigilant to make sure everything is correct. Thanks for your time!
Hey I just went to a glass place to get an estimate on my windshield replacement. They took my VIN and said they can’t get that windshield. That I have to get it through Honda. I figured it’s because it’s a type R. How much was yours? And is that why you got it from the dealer, because nobody else had it?

Hey there,
From what I remember the company that I went through in replacing the windshield did go through ordering with honda, I didn’t order it myself. The glass place should be able to do so without you having to order it yourself. With payment I do not remember but it was covered with my insurance.

I was able to get a replacement windshield on my ITS at a small independent place. Guy showed me the code on the OE windshield and the code on the replacement, and they were the same, but the replacement didn't have "Honda" written on it. Should be the same with the CTR I guess... Only difference is that the ITS as a HUD while I guess the CTR doesn't.
