General statement. You always get people who say "buying x car is stupid, fix finances" on these questions, then 90% of the forum says "do what you want". Tale as old as time. Point being, the advice is meaningless.

Update paid a principal payment of 5k today and still have a 7 month emergency fund.payoff is currently 27600 and I plan on another principal payment in the upcoming months.postive equity is currently around 17-18k

Refinance with broad view 5 percent 60 months 435 per month. Now I need to look to save on insurance as progressive keeps rising every 6 months.last year I was paying 120 per month now its at 155 with no accidents/tickets.

Car insurance the last couple years has been brutal. No harm in shopping around, but you may find it doesn't help.
