Hello,

Can someone help me? When I drive my car, there is this loud high pitched noise that is more common at lower speeds and when I am off the accelerator. What can this be? I included a video of the noise.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, I’ll have them check it out at the dealer when I drop it off for an oil change.

Any other potential causes?

Sounds like a rock (more like a tiny pebble) or something stuck in your brakes. It happens. Drive in reverse for a bit and see if it’ll come out. Another thing to try is wiggling the brake shields and see if the pebble falls out. You can also take it to the car wash and try to spray it out of there.

It’s very intermittent; not all the time. I appreciate it! Thanks guys!

Definitely seems like a rock in the brake dust shield like @TypeRD said. Had this happen to me mid-course last weekend at an auto-x and it completely took me out of the zone. It sounds awful but at least an easy fix.
