Definitely put on after the car was bought and driven. You can see the scuffing on the bottom due to bottoming out but the tape is unaffected.

Mine had it from the factory, I removed it.I looked under my front bumper and noticed some clear tape on the front of the bottom fairing. Anyone know what it is for? I can pull and remove it easily.

Safe to remove, the trim is meant to direct air but not sure why they put the tape there. Mine was flaring off on the ends as well, but I removed the entire trim piece to put low glow in that exact spot and the GU lip obstructs any air getting to that trim anyways.I looked under my front bumper and noticed some clear tape on the front of the bottom fairing. I've absolutely scraped the hell out of the under lip. If anyone knows the part number lmk! I can't seem to judge all the shitty curbs and driveway ramps these days.

this is the part number 71105t60j00. I have two spares I ordered from Japan just in case it needs replacing. I have to be really careful going up my driveway. Lowering my car is forbidden.
