Ticking/Clicking noise from driver side window

For the last 5k miles or so, I have had a 'clicking' noise coming from the driver side window. It seems to get better/worse depending on temperature, but pretty consistently makes this very annoying ticking noise whenever driving over imperfect roads.

The sound is extremely similar to what is heard in these threads:







I can make the noise quieter by putting a good amount of force on this plastic piece:

However i have taken off that piece and applied foam and the noise still happens. I can also make the noise go away by putting force on the window glass itself around that same area.

If any of you guys have had the same issue and know where the noise is coming from, I would greatly appreciate any info. Most rattles ive fixed or ignored but this is hard to ignore being right beside my ear.

I’ve got about 5 areas identified in my car that rattle. It’s annoying because it’s not constant which makes it really hard to diagnose. Some day when I’m feeling up to it I might try to fix them but so far I’ve just lived with them.

1. Driver side door
2. Front passenger side door
3. Driver seatbelt adjuster
4. Rear seatbelt tensioner
5. Rear mirror housing

Bump - has anyone had this same noise and figured it out? It drives me absolutely nuts. Ive pulled off my door panel multiple times trying to find anything loose and Ive added foam in places I thought would help but the noise comes back.

I'm thinking it may be weather stripping or even the glossy black plastic trim above the window on the outside - if I press in on the door weather stripping around that area I can hear it make a clicking noise but its hard to diagnose while driving with the door closed.
