Tried to find the Type R Edfice in Tokyo and didn't have much luck....I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for the update email...
I was inTokyo in early November when it was released in Japan. Hit up every available Casio retailer who told me they were all sold out via pre sale.

I put the Mugen watch in my cart last night and saw it’s free shipping for items above $300. This morning I got the email for 5% off. I looked at the store listed in the email and googled the directory for the mall. It looks legit to me. I’ve only been to Singapore once but there’s like a gazillion malls according to my friend that lives there.
As for the Type R watch. I’ve been wearing it here and there. My complaints are the strap or the non existent aftermarket strap option. Also the negative display makes the digital parts of the watch incredibly hard to read. Lastly the backlight stays on way too short. But for the price at retail, not bad. My first solar watch as most of my watches are mechanical.
Why are you saying that there is a non-existent aftermarket for the straps? The straps for watches can be easily swapped out for something else, are you saying aftermarket straps are not compatible?

Is your complaint that the strap is stiff? Some straps have a decent break-in period so it will feel weird initially. I had this issue when I got my first Breitling, loved the watch but the strap just felt so awkward and the watch would curve up and like flip on the other side of my wrist.

The case has indents on each side so the strap has to fill in this gap. With that the traditional straps won’t fit. There are some straps out there that has this indent but the width is different.

I find the strap to be annoying because of the second keeper. It is not fabric but hard plastic. Since I have a smaller wrist the strap is long and will force me to push the second keeper around my wrist instead of underneath it. Hard to describe. The inner strap is very comfortable though.

My watch arrived today from Vincent Watch and a big shout out goes to Ac12 for providing the link. ;-) Purchased on 12/8 with all the proper receipts and tracking info and the watch came packaged nicely with no damage to the outer box whatsoever. I thought the price was decent at 457.00 including shipping. Casio proper is charging 400.00 before shipping if you can ever get one. The deployment clasp is a little funky but I can get used to it. I purchased it for my collection and not so much for wearing anyway.

What good is a watch if it just sits there? Wear it. Enjoy it.

I received mine from Vincent Watch yesterday as well, and it arrived in good shape. DHL decided to leave it on my porch instead of getting a signature, but that's a DHL problem.

It's a little smaller/less busy in person, but I'm still not sure if it's my style.

At least you got it and it wasn’t a scam.
You can always sell it. Just a pain to sell. If it gets listed on StockX it would be easier to sell.
