I wanted to start a thread for Type R-adjacent content that may not be directly or exclusively focused on the FL5, but is still relevant to the broader Honda performance community.
There are a lot of great videos, articles, interviews, shop tours, and historical pieces out there that touch on Honda tuning, JDM culture, motorsport, iconic brands, and the broader ecosystem that helped shape cars like the Civic Type R. Not all of that content neatly fits into an FL5-specific thread. However, I think a lot of it would still be interesting and useful to the community.
Feel free to use this thread to share similar Type R-adjacent content: Honda tuning videos, shop tours, interviews, motorsport history, Spoon/Mugen/J’s Racing/Modulo content, or anything else that feels relevant to the broader Honda performance world.
To kick it off, I wanted to share this video from Dino DC: “Inside Japan's Most Famous Honda Tuner - Spoon.” The video is not exclusively about the FL5 Type R; it also covers other cars, Spoon’s history, tuning philosophy, and some broader Honda enthusiast content. I thought it was an interesting peek inside one of the most respected Honda tuners in Japan and figured others here might appreciate it too. I also like Dino's content - he's well informed on JDM culture, speaks Japanese, and lives in Japan (as far as I can tell anyway).
