Type R 'Explore' and 'Build' options on Honda website - timeline

Looking for the timing when new Type R model years (MY) showed up on the mother ship website?

I'm sure someone on here has that data.

Q1 - What dates did the FK8, 2017 and 2018 (MY) finally show up on automobiles.honda.com?

You guys know where I'm going with this...

Q2 - What date did the FL5 2023 (MY) Type R show up?

Might give a clue as to when the FL5 2024 (MY) will show up, based on the past first 2 years of production on the FK8.

Wondering the same myself. My FL5 is at the logistic storage for the dealership I'm buying from. Literally any day now, and I'm wondering if I would have been luckier getting a 2024? Maybe they're discontinuing the CTR. I would personally love it if that were the case.

FYI, just looked at the site and the 2024 (MY) Type R is still not showing but the 2023 is still there. Looks like virtually all the other models, i.e. CR-V / Accord / Odyssey, etc. are showing 2024. Even the Civic Sedan and Hatchback are showing 2024.

I was going to post about the same thing last week, but I didn't want to induce panic--the Type-R is the only 2023 model on the Honda Build tool (aside from the Passport or Ridgeline, but there's both a 2023 and a 2024 of that one).

I broadened my search to include Acura, and they still have various 2023 TLX's listed, and that's not one they're discontinuing. But the RDX, which they were supposedly discontinuing, has a 2024 available.

The first batch of 2024s are already built and en route to the U.S though none have been allocated to specific dealers in the system yet but it will probably show on the map tracker once allocated. Approximately 283 MY 2024 units on the vessel named Ruby Ace. Googled the ship and looks like it will stop in Canada ETA 10/31 first before heading to the U.S.

Yep, I did all this waiting for my fl5, hunting these "trackers " it was terrible, and all the trackers were wrong on my fl5 "At dealership", or " In transit" ugh....... guys when your fl5 gets there it will get there.

Vessel manifests contain cargo data. Here’s an example of a manifest / bill of lading from another vessel “Taurus Leader” from earlier in year that carried 2024 HRVs:

The 10th character of MY 2024 vins is “R”. For 2023, it was “P”.

I heard it’s gonna come stock with Ohlins tuned dampers that offer more compliance and the exhaust setup from the ITS.

Any significant changes would’ve been announced around the end of September, historically speaking. And if 2024’s are indeed on boats now and you’ve still not read about any changes on the Honda website, then yeah, there will be none…except new year and higher price.

Unless they totally miscalculated and a car isn’t selling well, I’ve never seen Honda refresh a model after just 1 model year.
