UK Owners - Steering Gear Worm Recall.

Hi guys and gals,

This is my first post so just wanted to say hi but also to just post something about the recall for the steering gear worm in the UK. Dropped the car off today, just to make you all aware (apparently - from what the master tech told me when I asked) in the UK the FL5 gets the entire steering rack replaced and not using the newer grease kit. The normal civics are getting the kits. This is just from what I was told today. If anyone has anything different let me know. Anyone internationally let me know what you think as well!

Mine is in for a full interior refit after my car was stolen and recovered, and I ensured the recall was addressed at the same time. They’ve told me the recall work is done but I’m unsure what they have covered. I’ll update when I call next week.

Yes that's correct. Mine has the whole rack replaced too and they told me that's just for the Type R. Regular cars get the grease kit only.

Glad that you got the car back, mostly these days they are gone for good or written off. Please let us know what theyve done. I contacted honda UK and the person that emailed inferred that its at the discretion of the dealer, as they asked if I wanted a second opinion on the recall.

Thats exactly what they said to me, which I thought was weird, surely the kit is cheaper both for parts and labour, but maybe they want to make sure its 100%, especially for the Type R.
