Great addition. Do you plan on adding the tailgate light as well?
Thanks! I don't think I will do any exterior lights - only interior. I read some mixed reviews about the exterior LEDs - some saying they are super bright. I hate it when I am blinded by other drivers, so try not to do the same to them :)

My apologies, I should've been clearer. See this post.

It's also a safety consideration. The pulsing and immediacy of LED lights are more effective at grabbing the attention of other potentially clumsy rear-enders behind you.

Can anyone with those trunk dividers confirm what material they are? Are they just a hollow plastic?

I don't understand why they wouldn't make them black or gray. If I got them I'd have to paint them or something. They do look useful though!

Oh that looks cool! I didn't even know that existed. Not sure if I am willing to commit 2-3 hours doing that though :p

What do you think? Worth it?
It's not a simple yes or no response. Allow me to provide additional context. Going in it wasn't clear how involved the installation was until the part arrived and it was presented as a kit. I also made an assumption there was already a halogen light near the tailgate grab handle and it would be a direct replacement like the room lamp. I should've performed more due diligence on it before I ordered. Once in hand and realizing my miscalculation, it didn't make sense to return it to Japan. I liked the idea the modification is functional and completes the "set" of lights in the tailgate area. I ultimately would've wanted them both done anyway as a complement. Overall, I think both lights work well together and achieve the object of providing much needed lighting to the tailgate area. It certainly isn't a must have modification but, it's a nice touch and I'm pleased with the end result.

They are very light - probably plastic, maybe a thin sheet of aluminum wrapping it? The color is contrasting yes, but this is pretty much the definition of a mod that is strictly functional and not aesthetic :p

Before/After installing LEDs in the trunk light.

All photos were taken without flash - the newer bulbs are significantly brighter and give off a nice white light!

My apologies if this was already mentioned...

What part did you use?

I read online that the FL5 carbon fiber bits may end up taking a strong hit production wise or even be discontinued.

All carbon fiber bits, or just some (like the interior pieces)? Source?

I read it from a different website and clicked the link they sourced the info from.

It is the website I initially read this from that indicates the possibility of it no longer being provided. Apparently due to damage to a plant that makes this product. (Italy)
Yeah, sounds like production may be suspended and/or further orders may be paused…which really sucks. I’m sure they’ll figure it out, but my fomo is definitely pinging. 🤣 As this announcement is in Japanese, it makes me wonder if this only affects Japan (for now)? I understand there’s only one factory making these parts, but distribution to other regions is probably different…and perhaps won’t see the dip in production? Then again, as this news gets around, folks are gonna be snatching up parts…so

Not sure if this is the right thread or not, forgive me, but I have an unboxed OEM Carbon Fiber Wing for sale for only $25,000. PM me if interested.
