lol Just in case... this is for an FK8, but its pretty much the same thing. Good luck!

I just tried this and ended up marring the hell out of the shift boot ring.

EDIT: turns out there's a tiny zip tie holding the shift boot material to the collar.

I usually use a trim tool instead, just for that fact. Yeah, there is a zip tie that keeps the collar attached to the boot.

You got any recommendations for an aftermarket shift boot ring that allows for easily pushing it down to expose the nut that holds the shift knob in place?

Got my windows tinted the week I got the car.. I don’t like driving a fish bowl 😂 I got ceramic 20% all around but 35% in the front windshield. I also bought some Bono’s 20MM spacers for front and rear and I’m waiting for my swift springs to come in so I can have the car sit a little lower… pics to follow!

Just installed the OEM Carbon Fiber wing over the weekend. A little more aggressive!

Wow--honestly some of the best photos I've seen to highlight how much more aggressive the CF wing is. I haven't seen one in person yet, but have assumed it's basically the same wing, only a difference in materials.

Looks great!

I did the same 20% on the windows, but didn't have the guts to go darker than 50% on the windshield--I wish I did though, that looks MEAN!

I think 35% was a great tint% to get because it’s still very clear during the day/night imo but also that’s because I was used to driving a 5% all around tint in my GC coupe Subaru lol

I regretted that 5% tint the following night believe me 😂

Acuity or Hybrid Racing are a couple I'd recommend. Both will replace the stock nut and collar.

@Ultimateone, @Chilly613, @Jester04 - the last time I removed a shift knob, I was replacing it with a stolen beer tap. It's been a minute. 🤣

Now that I can see that nut, installing the new one should be less of a feat! (Hopefully)
Its a lot easier by taking off the shift surround, lift up the boot and turn the nut. Knob just screws off normally and you also see how you can change your shift boots as well!

Get an aftermarket shift boot ring way better looking and they use a similar method of securing the boot so there is no sag. I replaced mine and kept the oem shift knob when I did the shifter base bushings.

Thanks I appreciate the kind words! Slightly more aggressive but nothing to turn heads unless you really look at it ;)

Ok I've been busy so I'll start a build thread this week, but dumping a few shots of everything I've managed to get installed. Best part.... it all works! Hooray!

Better shots of the Cusco wing mounts, along with my camo-wrapped mirrors and wing end caps. The window louvers were a cheap eBay find that I threw on to irritate my wife... they'll come off eventually... probably... maybe:

My custom illuminated door sills are in, and both front and back work just as planned (possible group buy opportunity ahead):

I camo-wrapped my center console (see the theme developing here?), and installed the JDM alcantara shift boot, and carbon/red Mugen shift knob from King. The coasters are a cheapo Amazon find:

JDM cupholder lighting:

Lastly, I installed the (upgraded) JDM footwell lighting in the front and rear, along with the JDM door handle and map compartment lighting + MikStore rear vents:
