Just received my jailbroken and cloned DE5 ECU back from @VtecSlayer ! Got the new DE5 ECU installed and ready for Hondata and tune from @Jester04. I just need a windows laptop to get all that done.

I gotta give a shoutout to VtecSlayer as he has made the process of jailbreaking and cloning my ECUs incredibly easy and affordable. On Monday, I was getting ridiculous quotes to overnight ship from the UPS store ($235+), but, VtecSlayer took care of me BIG TIME. While I was standing in line at another location getting quotes (again over $230), I was texting him. He provided me with a prepaid overnight shipping label for $80. All I did was Venmo him the cash and he got it done. I had the place print my new slip and they shipped it out. Now it’s Wednesday and I’m ready to drive my car again. These guys are amazing and an absolute pleasure to deal with!!!!

If you're not too far from one. I would say to check out Microcenter. I've been thinking about tuning soon and getting a laptop for it, lots of good deals out of Microcenter for a budget laptop that I would only be using it for car stuff.

So - is the plan to tune the cloned unlocked ECU and be ready to swap back to the stock ECU if needed? Do you know what info that's on the ECU that can get it to throw a fit if it sees a mismatch when you swap ECUs? For example, is the odometer info stored on the ECU at all? If so, how would ECU swapping get affected when the mileage doesn't match up? Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant on the subject. Thanks.

Costco have great deals on "cheap" laptops too if you have a membership.

As much as I like to buy things at CostCo, a computer usually would not be one of those things, but they do have a good return policy. If you dont have a Microcenter close, CostCo would be up there.

@Xmetal the cloning is not necessary by any means, it was just my preference of mine. I plan to keep my car for a very long time, just wanted my stock ECU to be left alone. The jailbroken/cloned ECU just allows me to alter the tunes of the engine, odometer is not affected. Candidly, I’ll probably never put the stock ECU back in but like the fact that it’s unaltered.

Never heard of a MicroCenter before, just looked it up though and they got some deals! There’s one maybe 40 mins from my home, so I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve been searching FB marketplace for a $50 laptop, maybe I’ll get lucky. I hate being an Apple person now….

Its like Toys R Us for computers. I like it better than Best Buy.

And once he gets it tuned he can go to Costco for gas 😆
LOL, I actually heard that Costco has decent quality gas... not sure if that's true though! I put it in the MDX whenever I find myself there shopping. BUT, Sunoco around the corner from me has 94 octane, so I'll stick with that for now ;)
