I mean there have always been people buying 60k plus cars that can't afford to a own home. That isn't new. But, when you think of how inflation has taken a toll on the auto market it starts to make more sense why cars are getting so expensive. The real shock is that real wages haven't caught up with the rise in total inflation.

sorry for small side track:
but, if real wages does catch up, inflation won't die...cause everybody (or more people) can afford stuff again...and once that happens, people may start to hoard, and once hoarding begins again, shelves will go empty again.

so maybe double edge...YIKES!!! We're into the abyss now :nono:

times like this, we should watch more Family guy

edit: or seek advice from Homer Simpson

Yeah the fed will just keep trying to print their way out and we’ll end up like 1920’s Germany.

My wife just retire from Chase and she would get so many calls from new auto/truck owners that can't make their first payments....the average she saw were in the 600's per month.

There's a lot of idiots in the military there, but I would also take that with a grain of salt. I would say that too if I wanted to sell them in the future for 20k.
I know a military guy who paid 10k over for an SI....yes just an SI....

Insurance cost FYI: State Farm
Screenshot_20221223-111749~2.png
mine is with LimuEmu (Liberty Mutual :) ) and it's about the same.
I think the R comes out to $120 / month, with reported used of 7,500 miles per year.
to me, this ain't bad, consider my San Francisco Zip Code...
not sure why Zip Code comes into play for auto insurance, but it does and it sucks!

Sadly Civics carry one of the higher insurance costs because they are super cars. Well actually they have high levels of ownership by those damn kids!
