Finally broke down and ordered the full acuity shifter. I've never had a single complaint about the stock shifter, but I bought a white billetworks knob that was heavier. Love the feel, but the extra weight introduced some slop due to the soft bushings. I thought about just doing solid bushings, but I think I want to try out the adjustable height.

I was in the same boat, I absolutely love the OEM shifter (especially coming from 10+ years of Subaru WRX/STI's). Let me tell you, the full shifter, paired with the cable bushings, is heaven. I, personally, have it dialed as short/close as possible.

For the guys with the Acuity Shifter, is there suppose to be grease in the large silver colored center bearing? There is visible grease in the left smaller purple colored bearing. I noticed the large bearing isn't very smooth in movement, and the shifter doesn't exactly center itself when going to the right. Have to give it a slight nudge to center for that last few mm. It's installed for maybe a month now, but I don't drive the car much so just wondering if it just needs to break in.

I actually emailed Acuity with this question. They recommend not lubricating anything because they feel the grease will just attract dust. All the pivots are supposed to be self lubricating. I still added a dab of grease swiped from my old shifter because OCD.
Either way, I can tell you that it will break in/loosen up (in a good way) a little after a couple of weeks of use.

I'm glad to hear that it breaks in a bit. I finished my install tonight. It's a big change. But it's almost too tight. I need to raise the height adjustment a bit. I don't feel like I have enough leverage and the effort to get it in gear is a little higher than I want. At least the install wasn't too bad.

what wheels are those? and specs?
Thanks! They are Advan RSIII's in 18x9.5 +45, lowered on Swift Springs along with the ITS ADS module. I wasn't happy with how the rear is a tad sunken in compared to the front, so I added 5mm spacers this past weekend. Looks a lot better, l'll update once I get some new pics.

That's great news! Thanks for finding out. I guess I'll have to drive the FL5 more now to break-in the shifter. It feels so good, the notchy feel and audible clunk when shifting is very satisfying.
