CF Interior Parts: Gloss or Matte?

I’m curious what you guys think…gloss or matte CF interior parts for the FL5?

For me I'd go matte. I had an 11th Gen Civic Sport Touring that has the glossy trim interior pieces, sometimes I would get the worst glare from it when the sun hit it just right.

The only issue I have sometimes with matte is that sometimes it looks just like fake CF weaves these car companies are doing nowadays on some cars.

Yeah, I get that. That's part of the reason why I haven't pulled the trigger on any carbon bits yet, and a lot of it is really pricey.

OP - Modding is such a personal thing. Just pick what YOU like. It doesn't matter what anyone else think. At the end of the day, you are the one who's going to live with it. You don't have to justify it to anyone. With that said, I vote gloss since it brings out that 3D effect of the weave. Matte looks more 2D to me.

I’m not trying to necessarily have someone else decide but I am curious to see what other people have been doing because I genuinely can’t tell sometimes which option I am looking at in photos.

Note, if matte gets scratched, it's done. With gloss, you can still do some minor polishing to get scratches out. I was going to do matte forged carbon and was advised against it from the company because of that reason.

I prefer gloss, but that's also because it's in keeping with the OEM design language as all carbon pieces are gloss. A couple things to consider:

• Align finish selection based on all carbon and other pieces you may add in the future. In other words, if you plan to add a Mugen steering wheel later and selected gloss finish for door trim, the Mugen steering wheel features a dry carbon that has a matte-like finish. A carbon finish mash up doesn't look good.
• Durability is worth mentioning. If matte gets dinged up, there isn't much you can do to repair. Gloss on the other hand can be polished and worst case scenario, recleared and will essentially return to new.

I would like more matte like in the style of the fake stuff on the engine cover (but real). I feel like it could be finished to be more scratch resistant too, and I'd pay the price differential.
