Autotrader UK just posted their FL5 vs FK8

"Of course you have the badge, to let fools know"

😂

Isn't this what everyone should've expected all along? Favorite review so far.

Has anyone other than Throttle House gotten an FK8 to outdrag an FL5? It seems like their outcome is becoming more and more of an outlier, but I haven't been following along too closely and might be wrong. All I know is that the FOMO grows with each new review!

Lol.

The more time that goes on the more I get survivors guilt. I just wish I could enjoy my FL5 with another FL5 owner…

I love the line from the Autotrader video review that when compared to the FK8, the FL5 has a “slightly more sophisticated look” 🤣🤣🤣, slightly

Also they never mentioned the new car has taller gearing so torque multiplication is reduced. Heavier with a little more power and the taller gearing in the FL5 appears to equal the FK8 slightly less weight and power but shorter gears.
I believe every review that featured road course times the new FL5 is faster than FK8. I respect both cars and only pointing these things out for conversation sake.

Nope. Clearly the Throttle House FK8 was not stock.

I can't help but be disappointed it didn't lap quicker than a M240i.

i won't be to concerned...it looks to be a tight track with a bunch of chicanes, so to me. it's understandable that a slightly shorter wheel base vehicle with same performance may be just a bit quicker...but on big tracks, that's when the FL5 will take it.

Not concerned at all; I'm just wait to see what the nay-sayers will say :)
I'm almost certain someone with use this video clip and spread it like gospel :)

PCOTY awards are out. Great reviews of the CTR, and faster than the morizo with sticky tires!

Cant stand Raiti. Almost nothing he says is useful and that you couldn’t find in a short article. One comment he makes which illustrates my point is while driving the Elantra N he states, ”it so easy to get third gear every single time!”. Huh? Never knew getting a manual into third gear was such an achievement.

With that said I did click on the video because, well, it featured a 2023 Type R o_O 😂

I've got nothing against Elantra Ns, but in 20 years, they're going to be worth about $8k, while the FL5 will still be sitting pretty at MSRP (or higher). As much as they may look similar on paper, I am simply not cross-shopping the two.

There's nothing to cross shop in my opinion. It's this vehicle or you go in a different direction. I hear a lot of folks talking about looking/moving on to a M2C or RS3. That's not cross shopping to me.
