Latest drop from yesterday should now show up on the map, looks like some already had ADM reports.

I personally would prefer direct-to-customer. I don't see the need for dealerships except for the service/parts department.
I MUCH prefer dealerships for the ability to both see the car in-person and to test-drive it. Several cars i *thought* i wanted were eliminated upon test drive. Being short, I discovered i couldn't drive a WRX due to the dash hitting my shin when clutching.. I know other people have found that being tall can also mean in-person testing is mandatory.

Sadly, when these "special" cars are unavailable for test driving, that DOES eliminate a lot of the benefits of dealerships. I hope they realize that and figure out how to accommodate us, or they will push us away.

Hold strong folks. Someone here mentioned a boost blue model in Irvine, CA a week or two ago and after calling the salesman told me it sold that same day for MSRP. I'm still patiently shopping for one in California at MSRP, preferably in championship white.
At the rate some of these are getting delivered... it shouldn't be too long before they get their next shipment... i wonder if some of you can put a deposit down on one right now and get a commitment for MSRP... or just little enough over to justify sitting and waiting?

If anyone is looking for a Grey Scott Honda is Vineland NJ is getting one in the new year, I just bought their CW and they were mad easy to work with. Originally 5k over including some add-ons but they came down over 3k and made me a solid deal. and were very professional about it. Picking it up on Saturday.

Ask for Eric, he was a great sales person.

That's fair, I would still like to avoid all the pricing bullshit that varies between dealerships.

SoCal Dealers back on their bullshit, looks like most want 7-10k over right now for '24s. Gonna just wait till after vacation(Japan for the first time!) and hopefully come back home to a CW or BB for a fair price.

Some people don’t understand how supply and demand works. They would take advantage in this scenario as well. It’s how any market works.

If you think you're going to get a deal on a 2024 Type R you are delusional...

Your only hope to get MSRP or a low ADM deal is a 2023 that has been sitting on the lot. Unlike the GR Corolla the demand on the FL5 is still very high and will likely be the entire generation.

Unless you're paying cash, waiting on the sideline for the last year for an MSRP deal has netted you basically nothing. Interest rates have almost doubled in this timeframe and you're just paying the ADM to the bank instead of the dealership. $5K ADM is still the norm but you're paying at least $4-5K MORE in interest over the life of the loan. Everyone's finanical situation is different but PLEASE factor this into your irrational decision to buy a brand new car in the first place.

As someone who has driven this car daily for 11 months, pay what you can afford and stop being stubborn about saving a few thousand dollars. The money is relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things if you factor in the value of enjoying the experience in the meantime.

My bigger point of contention is that there are plenty of dealers offering MSRP, but Honda chooses to send multiple vehicles to the bigger dealerships that are the worst offenders for price gouging. There have already been enough 2024 models to have 1 go to each dealer. Instead of sending a car to a dealer with a confirmed deposit, they’re stacking up and sitting for months above MSRP. There are places I’d rather see my money go over the owner of some dealership because they won some imaginary lottery…Honda R&D perhaps.

The dealer I’m showing in the image sat on the white 2023 car for over 2.5 months before reading the writing and dropping it to a small amount over MSRP.

Unfortunately, that's not accurate. There are not "plenty" of dealerships selling at MSRP as a matter of course. It's also more nuanced than that. Because a dealership can sell cars at MSRP with the exception of the Type R, which to me, is not an MSRP dealer for purposes of this discussion. MSRP + accessories is also not an MSRP dealership. And therein lies the issue. There are far more people looking for MSRP when there are relatively few dealerships who sell at MSRP. Under normal conditions, that demand will never be met. I've personally called more than half of the dealerships (>600) in the United States. The data suggests the number of MSRP only dealerships on the Type R is likely around 5-7%. An unintended consequence of this enterprising effort is I will now receive phone calls, e-mails, and text messages from Honda dealerships for the rest of my natural life and into the afterlife. 😂

As I was typing this post, I received a text from a dealership in NC. 2024 Type R for ~$10K over. Happy Hunting gents!

Great discussion. I guess my question is… assuming all FL5 are for sale at MSRP, will they be all sold out ?

I myself, one, was going to pull the trigger at MSRP last year but my finance situation took a turn where even if a dealer offer me at msrp I cannot buy. Yes, sucks. I have the money but it would put me in a non ideal situation. Second, the hype died a little in me, but I know I will have this car someday…..
