I don’t consider people having fun on a track day to be any sort of instrumented test. But the Trophy I believe has a huge weight advantage and slightly less HP, so I’m not surprised it would be quicker. The ring record is a pipe dream. The Trophy R is not a mass produced daily driver...
Man, starting to lose motivation to buy a type R with all these markups. I guess I’ll try to wait until summer and hope the prices have gone down a bit by then.
LOL!!! Then you wouldn’t like the fact that he likes the FL5 so much he’d prefer it to his GR Yaris. He literally says I F***ing love this car while he’s driving it!
He may have bashed civics earlier but he had nothing but praise in this review.
Can’t wait to get back in to autocross! Once I get an FL5 I’ll be using that and probably staying in the stock class. I’ll have to read up on the rules again. Thanks for the info and I’ll be watching your page.
PCOTY awards are out. Great reviews of the CTR, and faster than the morizo with sticky tires!

I thought the CTR performed well against a short wheel based AWD competitor in the wet and cold on a very technical autox course. Cards were definitely stacked against the civic.
The toughest thing is there really isn’t a comparable car to the CTR. The closest thing is the Elantra N, but the obnoxious styling and lack of refinement keep me from considering it. Because of this, I’m willing to pay 5k for an ADM, 10 and above just puts you in a different world of car.
I’d wager a guess that 90% of the wealthy people I know absolutely DESPISE paying more than something is worth. They know the opportunity cost of wasting money on liabilities when they could be investing in assets.
