For you experienced autocrossers - when do you apply your magnetic numbers? Before you leave home or after you arrive at the event?
I feel like I want to apply them at home before I leave so I can ensure the paint is clean and I am not apply the magnet on top of any debris. Plus it is one less...
I think the forged wheels look amazing and much better than the stock (mainly because I do not care for black wheels). I wish I could justify the cost to myself. Looking forward to seeing pics.
@PointByPatrol, for someone in a completely stock FL5 would you recommend Paragon R5, R7 or something else for track days? Are stock pads for the rear OK?
I have Motul RBF 600 (I believe you recommend the 660 but I need to use up what I have before switching) and titanium shims.
Any track people in/near Kansas City? I am looking to do a few track days this summer at Ozark International Raceway and/or Hedge Hollow - both new to the KC area.
It looks like NASA, PSI Motorsports, PCA and Chin all do HPDE at these two tracks. Are there any major differences between these...
Just use a long power lead and run it along the same path then use a fuse tap or jumper once your line is down to the fuse box below the dash. I have a Valentine and their hard wire kit has everything you would need including, I believe, the long power lead.
This might not be apples to apples but I have owned 3 Audis that had 2 liter turbos. The recommended oil change interval was 10k miles. They did not have an algorithm based on driving habits like Honda does - just straight milage. Numerous guys on the Audi forum would send oil samples to...
I don't know anything about Cali registration and smog but I live in Missouri and purchased my FL5 from a dealer in Alabama. Paid cash by overnighting them a cashier's check before my arrival. My brother lives an hour from the dealership so I flew in, he picked me up at the airport midday...
On our 2023 CRV the seats and the heated steering wheel will come on when remote starting but I think the outside temperature needs to be below a certain point - the seat and wheel obviously did not come on in the summer. I don't know what that temperature threshold is.
I have the Mishimoto as well and although I have not measured what the can has caught I would say my results are similar to @GV27 or possibly a little more.
3M sells a primer that greatly increases adhesion. I work with adhesives and we use it regularly. Search for "3M primer 94" on Amazon. You can get it in an application pen for 10 or 12 bucks.
@Clark_Kent
"Veiled pot shots" - nice. Is this me to the OP or you to me??
I guess I am not a real car enthusiast in your eyes (veiled pot shot anyone?)
His money - his decision. Yep - as I stated " people should do what makes them happy regardless of what others think"
"He's also not asking...
I try very hard not to be negative in any way on any forum - people should do what makes them happy regardless of what others think - but this is the most baffling post I have seen in my life. Is OP trolling us? Deciding to buy a super rare car, probably waiting months for it, probably paying...
3M also makes a primer that you can buy on Amazon that can significantly increase bond. Search for "3M Primer 94." Should be able to get it in an application pen.
I would go with the 3M that you provided the Amazon link for. I deal with adhesives every day. Our applications are sticking bare metal to bare metal (so no painted surfaces). The Amazon link does not give a 3M part number that I could find but that item is part of their VHB line (very high...
