The silhouette they show at the drone show definitely appears to be a coupe. Either the integra will be both a coupe and sedan, or the new compact sedan will be separate from the integra.
if the integra ends up a coupe, it will barely dent civic Si sales. Coupes are already niche sellers.
I’m...
The Si and Type R will have a front grille lip more like the hatchback we've seen, which is more concave rather than flat like on the sedan, so they'll have to do something slightly different.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if the touring model civic doesn't have this, the Si isn't getting it. It could be something honda is testing for future use... maybe a mid model update feature...
I'm not even sure what the real purpose/benefit of this is, other than to do exactly what...
I think the RS, based on what we've seen, is more like if they made a Sport Touring sedan, rather than the full blown Si. But I can imagine that a lot of the visual changes will probably end up on our Si model.
To my knowledge, no, outside of luxury auto makers most mainstream brands don't do customization like that. It's also worth noting that the sedan/Si and hatches will be built in different factories, so the plant in Indiana where the hatches are built, probably won't even have access to that...
I'm not sold on ALL the mugen accessories, the mirror caps are a bit much and the front grille garnish is eh.. but definitely like some of them. The underbody skirts and spoilers look nice, if they don't offer the HPD stuff from the sedan on the hatch (of which most should fit the hatch I would...
I was still on the fence too. But these pics look awesome. I'm excited to see one in person. I definitely think that the tinted windows do alot to dress up the look of the car too, visually minimize the huge glass areas a bit. I think the accessory spoiler (assuming they bring it here) will do...
Almost looks like a slot for something like an SD card... probably something related to features that the civic comes with in Japan that other markets don't get.
Our hatches are being made in the USA for the American markets. Japan is building their own for the Asian markets. Unsure if Europe will get Japan built or US built models imported or a mixture of the two.
In the Japanese reveal videos I remember them basically showing what we would consider a touring (except the partial leather seating) but most of the touring features, marketed there as an EX... They only ever made mention of an LX and EX trim in that video. But I'm unsure.
Trim names change...
I'm definitely not 100% on the styling of the new Golf... but from a price perspective... the new GTI seems like a tempting $30k offering vesus the Sport Touring Hatch.
Depending on other feature packaging, if it was between the Type R and Golf R... I'd probably still go with the Type R...
I could see most of these accents making it into the Si... I wish the Sport touring hatch was going to get these seats with the suede inserts instead of just the full leather.
Aren't gray tones fun? Graphic designer/color theory expert here to shed some light on things.
Ok, so admittedly they are pretty close, the differences are subtle, and basing it off pictures with different lighting isn't the best way to go about it but... meteorite gray is probably closest...
That looks like they jumped from the 5th gen hatch right to the 11th. I can't decide if I like it, or hate it. It reminds me so much of the 3-door 5th gen hatches (which I loved). But the front end also looks like some kind of fish... I'd like to see this, but with an adaption of the 11th gen...
I like both versions. I think Honda did a good job in making what amounts to a gran coupe hatch that is stylish and unique to the segment. The sketch monkey, while more traditional, looks good too, my only two changes I would've made to his design would be less space between the rear window and...
Interesting. I love how they ask "would they actually make a civic faster than the accord sport?" Um, yea... they already did, the 10th gen 1.5T was already faster, and it wouldn't have been nearly as close as this race was. I'm waiting for someone to do a drag race between the 10th and 11th gen...
No, definitely not crazy, I've seen others make mention of the uneven hood gap on other threads and forums. At this point, with the cars developed and in production, I'm assuming this is intentional for some reason (possibly having to do with the fact that the hood is aluminum now) as opposed to...
I have noticed that. And it seems to be evident on even some of the show cars from the reveals. It almost looks like the latch that holds the hood down is too tight/small and is bending the hood downward slightly. It seems only noticeable from certain angles but is none the less a bit annoying.
That's kind of where I'm at with the new gen. Keep my 19' coupe or go for the ST hatch and tune for extra power to make up for the deficit in the quickness so I can get all the new features.
