I say you don't do cerakote and try to get a swaintech coating going, it's a million times better and actually helps with temps unlike cerakotes 🫣
Im giving that option that company is actually in NY so makes it easy for me :) and agreed this downpipe isnt meant to be pretty I want it to perform no cheap coating options to make it all fancy. I rather have something that works.

Sweet and thanks for the detailed reply...Count me in for an interest in ordering the downpipe. As for joining another mailing list, I'll pass.

When do you anticipate that the downpipe will be ready for production and shipment?

Also, what is the ID on the 3" downpipe outlet that connects to the front pipe? Stock downpipe ID on that connection point is 53mm (2.09") and TSP downpipe ID is 72mm (2.83").

I currently have the TSP downpipe installed and mated to a Fujitsubo front pipe measuring 70mm (2.76") and then connecting to a Fujitsubo titanium exhaust of the same diameter.

As of now...Myself and the fab shop looked at the outlet to front pipe to see what we can do and whats best. Looks like 2.87 and some change will be the opening. Its a normal 3 inch pipe at the bottom and that is what the ID comes to. This will allow it to match up any bigger and I will have to adjust and do a custom flange which will add money so def not. The 3.5 off the turbo is the most important part of the downpipe so at least I can opening her up there. Should have the V2 protoype here next week

Thanks for the update and awesome...Looking forward to the release. Any thoughts on offering a combo deal on the catted and non-catted?

Not a bad idea at all! The issue is I’m not opening the catless stuff up to just anyone. I’m definitely going to stay strict with that. Even though the EPA seems to be easing up a bit with the new admin, I still need to protect my business.

After a lot of fitment testing, flow testing, and going back and forth on designs, I decided to go back to my original plan for the SBX downpipe setup: Yes I know I change my mind a lot but its always for a better reason.

4" off the turbo → 4.5" GESI cat → 3.5" to 3" lower section.

The area right off the turbo is the most important part for reducing backpressure and helping exhaust gases get out as efficiently as possible. Keeping a true 4" transition off the turbo lets the exhaust expand smoother before hitting the catalyst.

The larger 4.5" GESI cat also helps with:
• better overall flow
• less restriction at higher power (Up to 850hp)
• smoother airflow through the core
• better heat management under load

Then tapering down lower in the pipe helps with fitment, chassis clearance, OEM-style compatibility, and keeping exhaust velocity balanced without creating unnecessary restriction.

A lot of companies build around what’s easiest to manufacture and cheapest to make overseas or package. I’m trying to build around what actually works best while still fitting properly and feeling OEM+.

SBX Performance — not just making noise, making power efficiently.
