One of my buddies put it in his car and swears by it, so was curious if someone else had used them. I spoke to them on the phone this morning and it made me feel better lol Its actually less money than anti-gravity. Going to purchase it and see how it goes

I had a LiFePo battery in the FK8 but not sure I felt any difference as a daily. Maybe on the track which I’d never tried. Just make sure to use some insulation around the battery as it doesn’t like heat. And keep it topped up once a week if you don’t drive it often.

curious how the battery has worked out for you. I've been thinking of moving to a lithium battery soon

Look into anti-gravity batteries, have no idea the quality of powertex batteries
I have no experience with AG batteries, but I have a friend that bought 2 of them, for two separate cars. Maybe he was unlucky, but he had problems with both. The restart feature also didn't work. He said the warranty was good as they sent him replacements, however he's not convinced they're going to last and suggested that I consider another brand instead. He said he would look into the Noco brand next time. YMMV

Antigravity is made in China... not worth the $950 IMHO

A much better value is MightyMax $230

27Ah, 700CCA, 62 minutes reserve capacity, 9lb, no app, no built-in jump starting, made "overseas", probably China

about 30lb weight savings, or about 0.94% of the FL5 weight should gain a few thousands of a second in acceleration, improved handling by a few thousands of a g, ever so slightly reduced understeer from less weight upfront, a tenth of a mile improvement in MPG, and a foot or two in stopping distance

I've used other MightMax sealed lead acid batteries (made in Vietnam) for years, never had any issues

Internet search for MightyMax LiFePO4 car batteries found very few negative reviews for the MightyMax

Yet the Mighty Max is even lighter and much cheaper, the Antigravity is 60% heavier and over 310% more expensive.

any reason not to purchase the Mighty Max?
Id be careful with Lithium and low cost batteries, I will have to look into them more but I personally dont like buying cheap parts

Agree, there is no doubt that Antigravity is the better battery, specs and components, but is the MightMax good enough?

As I get older and can afford them, I started evaluating and choosing more expensive tools and parts, yet I find that expensive does not necessarily means better, or a better value.

Both are made in China, both have 5 year warranty, both are US based companies.

I searched for complaints and found that Antigravity has more reports of sudden failure, occasional thermal incidents, random electrical issues that were resolved by changing back to AGM and verified by going again to Antigravity, also an especially frustrating warranty processes.

MightyMax complaints are more about customer support and difficulties recovering batteries after low-voltage protection engages, but these were for deep-cycle or RV/solar not car batteries.

I also did some research about safety of budget vs premium LiFePO4 car batteries

no difference in safety issues. though I found that budget/generic LiFePO4 tend to use B grade cells vs A grade cells for premium batteries. B grade fall outside strict specs for A grade, they might have more internal resistance, more variability between cells.

but even B grade LiFePO4 cells are very safe due to the inherent stable crystal structure of the lithium iron phosphate which binds oxygen tightly and resists the exothermic oxygen release that fuels fires in layered oxide cathodes, LiFePO4 thermal runaway onset occurs at higher temperatures around 500F (vs 300F for Lithium ion)
