There are but they have 2-3x the waitlist over expected inventory unless you find the unicorn out in the middle of nowhere.
Think it's going to be hard at this point. I found a dealer that is smaller and they'll do a refundable $500 deposit for MSRP and be the only person. But they are saying they didn't even receive an 10th Gen Type R.

They also told me, that they haven't been able to figure out how Honda distributes the allocations. I figured it was volume based. But they are hoping since they didn't get a 10th Gen that they'll get an 11th Gen.

I just put down a $500 deposit on a Type R at one of our local dealers in Western Canada. They are charging 3k (Cdn) worth of accessories like ceramic coating, undercoating, Road hazard and key loss protection, premium paint, wheel locks and ac and tire tax. The dealership mentioned that the Type R’s comes with these add on. I think I’m the 3rd on the waiting list.

I’ll probably try other dealers and see if they have a waitlist and if they charge useless add on.

Definitely they are trying to make a few more bucks on extra products, anything can be omitted because those services are not done until they receive the vehicles on the ground . I’m in Western Canada as well, 3rd in line with a $1000 deposit and no extras. ( I also bought an FK8 from this dealer so they know I’m “particular”). As long as the they haven’t already put them on the car (on the lot) then you should be able to tell them you don’t want those products, and if they refuse I would call another dealer.

“I would call another dealer”…..at that point in the process you just would not get one.

In the US maybe but it’s not as crazy up here in Canada. Some dealers are just easier to deal with.

Apple Tree Honda, (828) 684-4400, has nobody on a waiting list yet. Be the first. Just $500. Taking orders now. Ask for Dave Talburt, he is a car guy.

Was talking to him Friday when I picked up my 2022 Civic Si. Planning on keeping my 10th gen CTR.
Called him, nice guy. No one is on the waitlist however there is a $2300 mandatory accessory package.

That’s exactly how they fuck people over. Empty promises of no markup, but they need you to opt for some bullshit accessories. All salesman are snakes. I hope one day in the near future supply will outstrip demand and all these snake dealerships starve. Greed has no boundaries. These mf’ers will nickel and dime you to death.

Get the mark up in email. If they are on the level they will do it after paying the deposit. Beurkle was really good about that - straight up priced it out and clear on accessories and mark up.

I hear your frustration on the markups. I really feel bad for those on the west coast, sounds terrible out there $10-$20k markups).

Wassup CTR lovers!

Just got in touch with a dealer in Socal. I'm on the waiting list (1st one yet) and we are expecting 4~7k markups. I said I'm fine with that because dealers from out of state are not willing to sell CTR to me. I called 5~7 with good results until revealing I'm located in Socal XD I *reserved* a white one but blacked-out CTR has always been my thing. it's just I can't stand the heat in CA so I'm trying to go white this time around.

My question is, are we expecting this winter to be the official release time?

At a 7K mark up that will put you close to 50K, at that point are you considering any other cars?

What better car can I buy with 50k lol Golf R? GRC? V8 muscle cars? Or M3?

It looks like you started to close your mind on CTR (probably getting tired from waiting or just markups due to shortage) just asking others for different options. It's coming later this year anyway and I'm ready to work my ass off for extra thousands of dollars to be paid on top of my trade-in. Just love your car that you're currently driving, wait patiently and work harder this year for your CTR!

It's either CTR or just a car to me. I'm that crazy in CTR and 7K markup means nothing to me with the passion for this toy. NOTHING.

So weird. I talked to Jamie Gilliam from Apple Tree and was told there were 5 people on the waitlist and there would be no adm or added accessories....

Update: Their manger saw my post online and I received a call back from them stating that pricing is still up in the air and the don't know what they will charge. LOL Move on to the next dealer unless you want to wait and then get screwed with a big adm when the time comes.

I love the Type R and my 2020 was a great car. I am NOT willing to pay over MSRP, especially at 50K.

At that point I'm in the same price point of C63 AMG, Lexus RC F, M3/M4 etc.

At the 40K or whatever MSRP is I'm sold, above that I'm tapping out. I may anyway if Honda doesn't give us some info on it soon. I need to know if I can get a car is summer/fall or if it will be 2023.
