My favorite salesperson line is, “You‘re going to let this car get away for $200?” Simply reply, “You‘re going to tank this deal for $200?” 🤣

We don’t need to spend the money but they certainly have to sell cars to make the money. The days of playing dealers are back. It’s nice to save thousands off MSRP again. Direct to consumer model can shove it. Keeps a handful of manufacturers from setting market price.
I am in the process on buying a car. Just be nice and respectful. I like to put them on the spot instead of the other way around. “Thanks for the respond. Here is my offer and I want to earn your business. “.

I bought my FK8 in march 2019 at MSRP from Concord Honda, but it was after reaching out to all the NorCal & SoCal Honda dealers that wanted me to come into the dealership to talk price...they were starting at $5K over MSRP.

My position was you have my offer of MSRP either accept or deny it but the only time I am coming into the dealership is to pick the car up.

Fair enough its FL5 but I think there are deals to be had at MSRP now and in 2024 if majority of enthusiasts insist on paying MSRP

Hold strong folks. Someone here mentioned a boost blue model in Irvine, CA a week or two ago and after calling the salesman told me it sold that same day for MSRP. I'm still patiently shopping for one in California at MSRP, preferably in championship white.

That's good to know! Blue wasn't really my color. I'm also waiting for a white one but would gladly do gray or black at MSRP. Just playing the waiting game at this point, well that and it's winter in Colorado. I can definitely wait a bit more since I'm not exactly looking forward to driving in the snow.

I was just at my dealership to change tires after my normal local shop was a wipeout (i told the story in the wheels/tires thread). So i ended up at my dealership service.

While waiting for the tire change, I went to visit the new car showroom. Shocked. They have THREE CTRs...

RED FK8 (2021 with ~5k mi)
CW FL5 2023 Certified Pre-owned (600 miles)
CW FL5 2023 NEW

I am quite sure that if they don't sell them in the next week or so that they will be ready to reduce prices. Previously, the new FL5's been at 7k, but their competition came down, so looks like they will too! I know any ADM is still too much for many of you who have been holding out, but if you agree on an ADM/price, they are an honest dealer and won't suddenly add in other charges -- no bait-n-switch.

They do build excellent perks into the ADM -- best for someone in the area. But, as the ADM gets lower, it may be worth it even outside the area. After holding my OTD price for 7 months, i would like to reciprocate by referring someone so my sales guy specifically gets the sale.

It's worth a try If anyone is interested... mention that you saw the referral on the civicxi forum...

That is unheard of down here. Hopefully it’s true. Keep us posted

I personally would prefer direct-to-customer. I don't see the need for dealerships except for the service/parts department.

Plenty of new cars(300+) dropped on the tracker today. Looking at the VINs they are 24s, so roughly about 4000 for MY23s.

Doesn't seem like much has changed. Called a bunch of local dealers who seem to getting incoming Type Rs. So far they want $7K ADM, $5k ADM, $5k ADM + $1500 dealer add-ons.

What tracker are you seeing that that many popped up today?
Using the motoring obsession tracker. TX, FL PA, OH and GA each received about 20. Could be they aren't showing up on the map yet but there's other notification in their discord channel about new drops.
