Aliexpress/Ebay Mud Guard

Just installed these mud guard as I live in southern Louisiana and the rain and mud kick up is quite crazy. To avoid paint chips, went around looking for Mud Guard and most of them are quite expensive (imho for what they are).
So Cam across this on aliexpress/ebay (just google image search on aliexpress) Front Rear Mud Flaps Guards Splash Guards For Honda Civic Type R FL5 2022-2026 | eBay

Heres the result, the fit is pretty good, it got a mesh for the front vent, mildly flexible material, good thickness and i think aesthetically quite nice. They give you the required tools as well as additional push clips. And all you have to do to install these is just steering lock to one side.

Looks great. I wonder if someone just sell the fronts? Don't really want the rears.

These look a helluva lot like the mega chip mudguards, could be a good alternative

I agree. I almost went with megachip, but I want more of an OEM option.

Just did a quick check, and I'm like 90% sure these are knockoffs of the mega chips, even used the same pictures lol (mega chip is gray)

If they're good quality then definitely pick these.

They probably are the exact same or close to it. A lot of the times when companies have their products made and manufactured in China, the Chinese company ends up selling their own version for a lot less.

I know megachip made a design update recently with the plastic insert for the vents, @nttran98 do you have a picture of the front mudguards when you took them out of the box? The old design was prone to snapping. I had to have my old ones warrantied and replaced with the new design

If they're good quality then definitely pick these.

Legit didnt know about megachip but design wise, they seems identical with a slight caveat on the mesh, the other mesh is integrated into 1 piece for the front pair on mine.

Didnt take a pic but idk what you mean by snapping out, it was all 1 piece (per side ) for the front.

Definitely "inspired" by megachip design here, They are all singular piece, all quite flexible to the hand to bend but not like flimsy. Does not have hard edge like this, all surfaces are much smoother.

the red circled portion is a 3d printer insert that's added to the mudflap material. If you look closely at your picture, you already have the microcracks along the mesh on the side.

Mine ended up cracking completely after a few weeks, here's what it looked like the day after install.

I want to say you have the old design, but the big difference is the 3d printed insert is now much thicker and covers more of the mudflap.

I would keep an eye out for that if it develops. Support at mega chip told me that the flaps that cracked were supposedly a part of a bad batch, but the design change makes me think not.

at $40 I took the plunge. I also found some oem style mud guards I'll guinea pig.
