Comfort vs Sport/R has different valve settings for the exhaust so it does indeed make a significant difference.

For example Im running the Miltek without a resonator and at highway speed there is some drone with the valve in Sport/R. As soon as I put it on comfort the valve closes and it's much quieter.

Jester posted the valve values from Hondata in the past, you can see how it works here:

Same boat on aftermarket exhaust uncertainty so… I deleted both front resonators. It’s great and louder (but not annoying). No drone. Also get a few pops and burbles in Sport and +R once warmed up and the valve opens up. In Comfort can just tell a subtle difference which is actually nice. Car should have come stock like this.

Now I have the itch so next week I’m doing the rear center little muffler/resonator delete after the valve and putting on 3 matching non-resonated 4” black tips (4.5” tips are too long, they’d stick out a lot). The stock tips are resonated so this should also help the outside two exhausts note as well. I’ll report back - and if it’s great will include an Amazon link to the tips.

If it’s not good I’ll report back too. The best part is it’s all reversible.

OK, here’s a video so you can hear the difference of modified stock exhaust between…

1- dual resonator delete mid, and front.
2- dual resonator delete mid and front + middle muffler delete + non-resonating exhaust tips

For the resonator delete, did the shop weld metal hangers onto the piping that replaced the resonator? MRT sells their mid pipe for the delete and looks like it has a metal hanger on it so curious if that is needed or now to hold the rest of the exhaust in place.

I’ll take a look under the car next time it’s up. One thing I will note after driving with it for a day… comfort mode it now sounds amazing and full and love it… But when the valve opens in Sport and +R and it gets to higher RPMs it sounds too raspy and Dirt Bike Kid for me. I am going to go back to the shop and have them put the little middle back muffler back on and I’ll post a video update with that into the middle so all can hear the three stages. I have a feeling the sweet spot is the dual resonator delete (front and mid) plus non-resonated 4” tips. Essentially the Integra Type S exhaust, who would’ve thunk it : ). Cheers!

There was no need to weld new metal hangers - all of the stock hangers stayed intact since it was just pipe direct in place of resonators.

Awesome thanks for the info. I might end up doing the dual resonator delete as well at a local shop. I think that will help me figure out if I really want to spend 2K on a full exhaust or if I'm good with the sound that the dual delete gives.

Ok - here's new update. I went a step backward and put the rear middle muffler back on and LOVE it again. Weird to say but my car ACTUALLY SOUNDS GOOD now... and THE BEST PART --- the exhaust is finally louder than the stupid fake pumped in "exhaust sounds" from the stereo so I didn't have to disable that. My sweet spot --- dual resonator delete plus non-resonated tips. If you want to get obnoxious and rowdy, go to step three and get rid of the rear muffler as well. I even had a "gunshot" pop while going through gears in +R but... too much for me. Here's a three step video that shows all of the options so you can Country Buffet to your preferred taste. Cheers!

(Here's the link to tips I got and they make stainless as well)

Hope it’s helpful! I spent a year going back-and-forth on getting an exhaust or not and this $200 stock mod is fantastic. One huge thing I realized too … I was going to go with the AWE touring - but - having the valve still in place is amazing so I don’t have to listen to louder all the time and can choose. I also recommend painting everything matte black underneath so you don’t have silver guts behind the black tips.

One thing I wish somebody made is 4.5” OD tips with 2.5” inlet only 5 inches long (instead of 7-9” which would stick out huge, it’s cramped down there). Would be cooler to get a little bit bigger OD, but the biggest outer tips I could find short enough with 2.5” inlet was 4” OD tips. Car is dirty but here’s a pic.

I quite like the silver tips because black tips can sometimes get lost in the diffuser depending on lighting and distance. But looks great regardless.
