Christian. We all appreciate you being here on the forum. But repeating the same robot/lawyer response is not going to put anyone at ease. If anything, this style of corporate response is fuel to the fire. If you are going to represent the AWE brand, represent. This means you should actually do something for those effected. They are here, you are hereby representing AWE. Reach out to them, get their info and pass it along to AWE for a resolution. If not, what is the point of you being here? Just my opinion.

Yikes, that one stings a bit. I’m active across a lot of forums, so some things do get repeated, but robotic definitely isn’t the intent. šŸ˜“

My goal has always been to point people to the fastest path to real help and clear answers. When someone is having an issue with our products, our support team is the best first stop since they have the tools and authority to fix things quickly. That’s why I share the support link so often, it gets you to the right place without delays. (I share it even when I am already actively DMing with the OP)

I was trying to make sure the correct information was out there, but I’m sorry if it came across as impersonal. I’m genuinely glad to be part of these forums as a resource for the community, and I’m always a DM away if anyone has questions or needs help.

Every system is made bespoke here at AWE. We welcome anyone with a concern to contact us or reach out to our support team. We have an incredible warranty, and we stand behind our American made products.

You might want to pick a word besides "bespoke". That usually means it's custom-made to a customer's exact specs vs being from a template. I would like to assume you're making them based on some repeatable template/process, even if you don't have a batch of them sitting around waiting to ship. What you aren't doing is bespoke because if you did that, I'd have ordered one with vBand clamps and not slip fits. Since it wasn't, I went with Magnaflow.

I will say your anti-drone stuff works great. I had your exhaust years ago on my M5.

Fair point. We make our systems "to order" in the sense that when you order, we create. Thank you for helping me to clarify that.

Christian, I'm glad you're active on the forums. I hope you can answer this question that I have been wondering for awhile. With a company of your size, what is the reason you guys don't invest in better welding (hopefully prettier too) ? I saw one video where one of your representatives said it's about the quality of the welds, even if it's not pretty. With people coming out showing your "quality welds" failing, is simply replacing it with another exhaust with the same "quality welds" sufficient? I would love to buy one of your exhausts as I like how it sounds. However, if I spend that much with welds looking like that, I'll pass. Your exhaust is the least attractive out of all of available exhausts systems for the FL5 IMO. Please do something about it and maybe I'll be a future customer šŸ˜‰.

I will say that AWE was very helpful in my case when it came to replace this section of the exhaust. The one gripe I had with this whole situation is that there were too many questions on fitment and tip install even after I sent a video with this awful sound. This is not a new issue as there was already another thread on this:

https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/awe-touring-exhaust-issue-help.53659/page-3

That being said, the problem comes when a member buys an AWE second hand, knowing this issue will AWE Warranty the part even though it was not purchased from an authorized dealer?

Yea, he didn't acknowledge my post and replied to the post after mine. I'm don't know much about welding but AWE's welding looks very cheap. With failures splitting at the seam, my guess is it probably is. Christian, I hope you will prove me wrong, and teach us a thing or two on why you guys choose that type of welding. Hopefully the answer isn't because it's faster and cheaper. I do understand failures can happen in any product. Please speak up for your company and bring some confidence in the community about your products.

Addressing your welding question (MIG vs. TIG): MIG welding is the best solution where structural integrity and long-term reliability are the top priorities. By utilizing a MIG weld, we achieve deeper heat penetration than other methods, ensuring that the weld isn’t just sitting on the surface but is fully fused through the core of the metal. This process is significantly more forgiving of real-world material conditions and minimizes the risk of human error through consistent, automated delivery. The result is a high-strength, impact-resistant weld that can withstand heavy loads and extreme stress.

With that said, our systems are built by hand right here in Horsham, PA with a lifetime guarantee.

Our Support Team lets us document the issue, get you a replacement, and gives our engineering team the details they need to investigate the failure more deeply to determine root cause.

Thank you for replying and answering my question. šŸ‘ I wasn't trying to be an @$$, just curious about your welds. The exhaust market is competitive and some of us do care how our exhaust looks even if it's under the car.
