Yeah totally, sorry all didn't mean to derail the convo and be a bummer LOL fingers still crossed!
It’s all good! 👌🏿
what if you ask them to get something that you were already planning on getting for example, if you were to get ppf and an additional set of tires and some accessories... they should be ok with it since they mostly care about total selling price and not so much what they are adding
Thanks for the idea! Will try to do that and will let you guys know when the day comes. Thanks everyone! 🫡

Any news when the next Bach of Fl5 are coming in????
Based on feedback here, it looks like it’s going to be Fall/Winter. Some of us have received word from our dealership of incoming cars in one capacity or another. Take with a grain of salt though.

I really don’t understand why we cannot track our cars like in the USA, my guess is Honda still using commodore 64 servers

as you can see in the video that in the US, they’re able to track the car leaving the factory, and when it arrives at the port in California, I really don’t understand why Honda Canada Inc does not offer this to its customers

I'm sure this capability exists; however, very few, if any, had access to this information via their dealership. I had no idea when my car was arriving other than, "It will be here in March." Why do you think so many people were constantly asking @AspecR "Where's my car?"

woke up to this message this morning

I wish it had been what I have been waiting for but it is not

Part of me want to go get it but, I think it's just the boy in me wanting a new toy.
Not sure how much, most likely msrp, and I really don't wanna take it and then be a flipper while i wait for the R. Also don't wanna be stuck with it or sucked into it while waiting for the R. The comparisons were done the verdict was out, to me it's like the wrx good and fun in the snow or mud sending it a little sideways but mostly traction awd in those conditions. Which is not me, also practically, space, seats, shifter, interior, mods and potential is all fl5.

I think it's more wise to pass this on in case some one here is interested

being wise is like being patient not reacting to your impulses and trying to stay calm. it's so darn hard.

specially knowing i have been eyeing the fl5 when it was being spied 3 years ago and that's when i decided to put a deposit

and yet a car that showed up out of nowhere is here being offered 😔

i think i will continue to wait

GTA West end Toyota btw, i think i saw someone considering this before on here

I wouldn't get GR Corolla Core, and the Circuit Edition is way too expensive imo. I would def pick ITS over GR Corolla Circuit Edition at that price point.

All 38 components of the turbocharger and supporting hardware are identical with the exception of turbo joint pipe resonator which is the black oblong shaped part stamped Type S/Type R. The usual power adding suspects are identical: camshafts, cylinder head, pistons, connecting rods, fuel system, camshafts. I'm inclined to believe the power difference is largely from tuning and NOT hardware. I realize the exhaust is also different but I believe that to be immaterial from a performance standpoint. The ECU calibration on the ITS is likely running more ignition timing than the CTR which is why it appears to make more power on less boost. I'm certain we'll learn more as time goes on.
Circling back on the brief dialogue we had on this topic. Good to see Hondata shared notes on the factory Type S and Type R ECU calibrations.

Love it! Now that they've put to bed what most of us already speculated, hopefully people can get on with their lives LOL.

The lack of news/updates/info from Honda Canada -> dealers -> us consumers is so frustrating. Recently asked my dealer for an update and not surprised there is none.

The heart wants the Type R much more than the Type S, but a decision will have to be made when my Type S allocation arrives this winter. The lack of desire for the Type S also puts a new Miata into the picture as a possibility - the rumoured ND3 will be the last ever pure ICE miata, but with a much-needed infotainment update.

Just had the chance to look at an ITS up close and, for my sensibilities, its a bit of an assault on the eyes. My eyes had no clue what to focus on. It was white so it could have been the contrast between the white and black. The car is overall quite edgy and angular with rounded fenders that don't quite blend in. The FK8 had a similar edgy, angular design and its fenders were sharper so they didnt look like an after thought.

I’ve been to the dealer twice to look at the ITS, in white and black, and definitely don’t love its looks. The interior lacked the special “fuzz” for sure and I barely even wanted to get in it to check it out. If it was the same msrp as the FL5 maybe I’d like it more, but at substantial more money for a less-special-feeling car, it’s a tough sell despite the comfier ride, better audio system, and funner exhaust.

Yup same boat. I'm hoping for the FL5 first but if not, I may have a family member willing to take the DE5 so at least It'll be in the family lol. Last time I spoke to my rep, he said December-February time frame.
