Civic Type R FL5 HRC Concept - New Video

It feels like a weird combo of the FK8 and FL5 front ends. I'm not sure I like it. Or I'm just validating my purchase of an FL5.

If so that's super disappointing. The images look a bit shopped or something though, maybe just over edited.

Guess I'll just look forward to the mechanical parts list.

The bottom one is likely a render or overly photoshopped like you said, but that top one is in broad daylight.

Most of the stuff looks like it's meant to just be add-ons. Like the fender vents utilize the original fenders, and if you peek at the video you can see it literally just clips onto the old fenders+some holes they cut. They didn't want to go through the hassle of a true refresh (new bumper, new fenders), so I imagine this was what they could do without breaking the bank.

They also already released most of the mechanical changes via that hrc program I'll bet. This car will just be the equivalent of a current type r that someone modified to be OEM+ with its own bodykit

I'd prefer to get an aftermarket carbon kit. That forged shit looks terrible. I sure hope those fender things aren't real. This whole thing looks like OEM rice.

These may be images of the actual stuff that Honda is coming out with, but they’re all renderings my man (including the “daylight” image). If you knew the things I know about marketing images and how they’re made, you’d be absolutely mindblown by the amount of stuff that we look at every day (in advertisements) and you’d swear is a real photo. It’s crazy. Go to any auto manufacturer’s website and ALL their vehicle images are digital renderings, including the ones with cars sitting in the driveway and cars driving on a canyon road. Those car brochures that you can get at dealerships from even ~20 years ago? Digital renderings + Photoshop. Stuff has gotten so good that even a trained eye can be tricked, but in this case they’re not to that level.

If you look at the daylight rendering the bumper doesn’t match on the left and right facias. The black garnish above the brake duct isn’t even
