Its a crazy market here in FL, dealers hold their ground asking 10k upcharges. One quoted me at $66k. Those selling at msrp play stupid games like this here unfortunately, bunch of smoke and mirrors on pricing at every leg of the negotiation. Im going to try to negotiate the package out but it does beat a markup of 5k or 10k for nothing in return... Id rather pay like a $1k markup for nothing at all though honestly lol, that will be my fallback offer. Def not paying the 2k. The sales guy even said hes set that at lower prices in past sales so hoping to minimize or eliminate that line item.

As others have said...Hard pass on the $2k upcharge for those addons unless it added OEM forged wheels or the OEM carbon spoiler. The protection package is crap. Dealers commonly apply it anyways to vehicles displayed in the showroom for the initial gloss bling factor that is really nothing more than a cheap ceramic spray you can pick up at your local auto parts store.

Personally, I would consider a reasonable offer for your trade-in plus buying the new CTR at MSRP or less. The 2026 CTR will be hitting the dealer lots soon if not already so there is motivation to offload any 2025 CTR inventory.

Dealer got me with their fake ceramic and wheel locks when I bought my car at MSRP. And trust me I asked them to take that shit off but they were like, locks already installed and we already applied the ceramic. Was $350 so I said fine I just wanted to get out of there. At least with the locks I got something, the ceramic coat was basically gone within a month if that much, what scumery.

Get out of FL, the dealer doc fees are insane alone, save $500 just going to GA. Go to Carmax and get a trade value on your Si, takes an hour and you can leave with a check. Call every dealer in GA and AL and I guarantee someone will deal at MSRP with no BS addons.

Doc fees in GA are no better. Most of the dealerships in the Atlanta metro area charge $899. Sons Honda in McDonough? $995. Straight cash grab if I've ever seen one.

Yikes, I know some people are not of fan of us and the BS prices we deal with in California, but our doc fee is maxed currently at $85.

Take a look at this Miami dealer, $2k in profit based fees haha.

Additional fees include a pre-delivery service fee of $1,298, a Private Tag Agency Fee of $189, and an Electronic Registration Filing Fee of $598, which charges represent costs and profits to the dealer for items such as inspecting, cleaning, and adjusting vehicles, and preparing documents related to the sale.

UPDATE: I just left Honda New Port Richey. They came in at 18k on trade for my SI, I want 18.5k. My SI is a primo example 2020 w 65k, would pull 23k off their lot all day long. They simply refused to acknowledge it despite the salesman saying himself it would a G in recondioning amd rheyd sell it at 23k. They wouldn't budge on the packages at all - $2700 total. I offered to remove the 2k package and id pay a $1k upcharge for nothing in return and they still didn't take it. Idk wtf to do, this is the most frustrating car to buy ever lol. My buddy says to bite the bullet but im going to try to squeeze just a little more juice bf that. Maybe offer to pay for the packages if the up my trade by a G ir something. The GSM was kind of rude and illogical imo. Why would you not take a trade with literally 3-4k on the bone for profit, and itd sell itself like immediate 🤷‍♂️🤬

Don't force this brother, you don't have to. This isn't 2023. And buying a preowned FL5 at this juncture doesn't make sense financially. Pre owned examples are trading way too close to MSRP for that scenario to make sense.

A few tips: 1. Go out of state if you need to; 2. Hit all of the car buying services to gauge the market for your Si; and 3. Don't pay one red cent over MSRP. If you're savvy, you should be able to land one below MSRP - that delta can cover the cost to ship at a minimum.

100% this right here!

I would take your car to CarMax, or like I mentioned before the Kelly Blue Book Instant Cash offer to see where that lands. It make negotiating a little more difficult with the trade in, but still possible. Look elsewhere and do not go back to that dealer.

The dealer where I paid MSRP for a new FL5 is asking crazy money for the Prelude they have on the floor.
It looks nice, but its not for me, even if they would sell it at MSRP.

I don't like the new Prelude, seems underpowered for the price. Even if they took $5k off MSRP I wouldn't consider it.
