Has anyone actually had the "opportunity" to use this? I just pulled the unit out of its cubby and I'm somewhat apprehensive about what it would actually do for me in a tire blow out situation--maybe just calling a tow truck, if possible, would be a better option?
Also, I know this is slightly different, but there appears to be no jack; I've never owned a car that did not have one included!

I feel a bit uncomfortable driving around without a jack and spare tire, unless the tire repair unit really does a great job of temporary resealing and inflation.
If there are spare tire and jack options that other forum members have found to be useful, yet cost effective to purchase, please let me know. Also, if I were to add a spare tire and jack I would remove the tire repair kit, right? or would there still be a use for it?

2011-2019 Honda minivan's have the same bolt pattern and the spare fits fine on the rear. Also got the minivan jack and tools with the foam holder. The spare fits in the spare tire well, but raises the floor an inch or two. OEM trunk mat hides the raised floor. The foward jack point will raise front and rear wheels off the ground at the same time.

I agree the FK8 set is the way to go, but they are rare compared to minivan sets.

Our 2017 FK8 didn't come with a spare, jack, and tools, hence me buying the minivan set.

The only scenario where that little compressor would help is if the tire had a slow leak. Aside from that, you'll need a spare or a tow truck.

Rare? do you mean used? You can buy the FK8 spare tire kit at any honda dealer. The fact that ic comes with a new floor with taller foam blocks to raise it over the tire was enough to make me spring for it new.

Hi! Welcome to the CivicXI forum. Good to see another Texan join us here.

Do you mean this thing...?

11th Gen Honda Civic factory included tire repair kit 20260601_095140

I'm not even completely sure what this pump is capable of accomplishing, since, as you can see, mine is still in its plastic packaging. After nearly 18 months with my FL5 CTR, I have not even yet taken the candy out of the wrapper.
Why is that?
Because, like @jtlctr , I am also pretty sure that:

The only scenario where that little compressor would help is if the tire had a slow leak. Aside from that, you'll need a spare or a tow truck.
That said, I do have a little bit of recent real world experience in this whole "spare wheel and a jack" conversation.

11th Gen Honda Civic factory included tire repair kit 20260524_102116

Please allow me to direct you to my thread on why I advocate for a full size matching spare wheel and tire in the vehicle:

Of course carrying around a full size wheel and all of the tools in the car cuts way down on usable space and adds a ton of weight to the trunk. It is certainly a compromise. There is not likely a scenario where the spare wheel and tire will be "tucked away" under anything but the sun shade and a comfy pillow. However, I will be trying to figure out some kind of storage solution under the trunk floor for the jack and tools. Then maybe I can use the compressor for my bicycles.

Cheers.

Check out this baby!

I don’t know if it can be sourced in the US, but it’s a better solution to what I did. I hacked my OEM foam to fit the jack, and it’s not pretty🤮
Hmm, $50.00 US to buy a minimal foam tray specifically for the scissor jack kit? Could be worth it if added to another order.
You could always add that piece of foa -- uhh, I mean, "Box Assembly Tool" (naming convention much, Honda?) to your Blackhawk Japan Wishlist, especially if you are already gonna order some other parts or accessories.

So... Photos of Jake's "OEM foam hack"...?

Damnit…. I knew this was coming!
Full disclaimer: I am not proud of this, and I advise not following the dangerous and shameful acts I have committed!

At first, I took a few measurements (not as accurate as I thought) and it looked like there would be enough space to carve out the foam and have the jack fit, so I busted out the blades and began cutting…… and cutting. And cutting. Until finally, the jack was down almost far enough, but one end of the jack base was still too high, and it prevented the floor from sitting down fully. But I couldn’t cut any more foam out.

So, now I’ve completely destroyed my foam insert, and I don’t want all this destruction to go to waste, right? Let me just take it one step further and remove one of the hinge pins at the base of the jack so I can tuck the base in a little further! The plan being that I’ll just throw a pin or bolt in there should I ever have to use the thing.

Well, now it fits without contacting the floor or cover, but it’s about as ghetto as it gets!

Hmm... that's unfortunate.

Looks like you should have used an angle grinder.
That probably would have done the trick. Definitely would have given you the cleanest possible cuts, for sure.
No fuss. No mess.
