what's a break in? :D
I think it's a conservative thing we do with our new cars when their new...
it requires like 500 miles of idle miles

yea that isn't necessary realistically

even when the honda engineer was here he told me type r motors are built with such a high tolerance it's not necessary

the shit 1.5t in the si definitely needs it though i think he said 500-600 on that

This is great. I’m just over 500 miles. Took it fairly easy, but not as easy as others for those miles. Picking my car back up tomorrow, and we’re gonna find out what it can do 🄶

no,
I' took those off the day I pick her up from my detailer...
I did, only yesterday, finally took the airbag sticker that was hanging from the glove box off

EDIT: on a side note about the plastic seat covers, I think they have the last 3 of my vin on there...sticker with bar code and some numbers on it...check it if you still have it, does the last 3-digit on the bar code stick match your vins?

Wait, I thought after 500 miles you were done
I do 1k below 4-5k, oil change and then occasional single gear pulls into redline-ish until 3k, oil change again and she's all PowerBand after that.

I was planning on breaking in till 1k then changing oil and filter. I’m at 860 now. Getting close 😃. I plan on using Castrol Edge. Supposedly Honda has a contract with Castrol. They use Castrol Edge in their race cars. And I plan on using a purilator boss filter. Anybody else use these?

doing the same, except will be using Amsoil...it seems smoother, or maybe I'm just tripping. But the Amsoil Signature is 100% synthetic, as oppose to "full" synthetic, which only requires 51% synthetic oil (by law) and the rest is mineral oil. anyways, just a bit of side note.

Curious to hear about the feel - or push experienced in the FL5, should not be that different from the FK8. Which has push early, but definitely hits a point where it increases a lot. So the FK8 at least can push you back in your seat. I would expect the FL5 to do no less.
If anyone has driven both - I know at last one poster owns an FK8 and FL5 - please compare the feeling - numbers aside- of accelerating in both cars. If your FL5 is broken in enough to rev it up. Thank you.

You nerd! LOL!

It’s ok to say your broke and can’t afford shoes after the crazy ADM’s on buying these things. I still have my shoes but I can only afford shorts and it’s the middle of winter up here!

For what it’s worth my Honda tech told me it’s a mistake to do your first oil change too early. I didn’t ask why but he said I should do it at about 4000km.
